  1. 😂 ‘Unlikely’ is understatement of the century there.
  2. Phillips, some how, got the nod over JWP today. Assume it’s southgate being southgate and wanting extra protection with 2 holding CM’s.
  3. 😂 trying to appear culturally diverse coming back to bite people on the arse.
  4. If I remember rightly, the tickets were a silly price. £50+ and kids weren’t much cheaper. Given we’d been there the year or 2 before and were absolutely terrible at the time, I don’t think we’d have sold out to be honest. If priced sensibly, then possibly.
  5. I agree. Tell that to Ralph, he’s the one who wants depth after previously wanting just that with youngsters making up the rest. Has he realised that the academy well is pretty much dry or that it’s not realistic with his style, given we’ll need to rely on them At some point. Taking that approach does also go against the fundamentals of our transfer strategy, though. It’s been made clear we’ll be buying rough diamonds who need some time to bed it and aren’t ready to make an impact straight away. Recipe for disaster when you lose your best players, if you ask me.
  6. I do seriously think they should look at using the 4th CL spot for the winner of the FA cup. It’d certainly add some want and need to win it for most teams. or even 3rd and 4th for winner of league and FA cup. So only top 2 get a champions league place. It’ll never be agreed to though, the big 6 will worry that another team can catch up with them, which is almost impossible at the moment. I doubt the FA or Premier league would be keen as well as it’d lower their coefficient if teams like us made it in there.
  7. Fair point. Although Ralph himself said he wanted depth, we don’t have money to bring in depth with quality, so we’ll have to make do for now.
  8. So despite being absolutely terrible and being kept out of the side by Jack Stephens, you though Vestergaard would make it? Don’t talk shit. He was written off by almost everybody on here. Show me a post where you said this.
  9. Hang on captain hindsight, you seriously thought that Vestergaard would have made it here from his previous 2/3 seasons? To be honest, I haven’t really seen much of Elyounoussi to make a complete judgement on him. The season he had here wasn’t great, but many have had bad seasons. What I would say is that he is probably the closest player to tadic (obviously not as good) as we have. I’m not saying start him ahead of Tella or Theo, but if you’re skint and need depth, it’s better to start with players you have. Tella has looked very good but also very quiet at times. He’s young and inexperienced, not to be relied upon all season. Theo plays on the right or through the middle, so really his competition is Redmond.
  10. Right, so weaken yourself on the odd chance that a player may come through and be a Luke Shaw. Anyway, who’s to say Shaw wouldn’t have been a better player under the guidance of someone like Bertrand? It’s a bit of a daft comparison anyway. Elyounossi won’t be a starter for us unless he impresses. He’d be a squad filler so we’re not reliant on having shite like Nlundlu on the bench.
  11. You think we’d be able to get a player with champions and Europa league experience for £2m? 😂 Lets not forget that a season ago every had written off vestergaard. Similar comments, too slow, not suited to the PL. 3 seasons ago, the same was said about JWP. For a squad that needs depth (managers words, not mine), for a couple of million, it would be ridiculous to sell him. Similar to Jack Stephens. Is he good enough for us, probably not. Would it be worth selling to then have to spend more on a replacement? No.
  12. Not this blocking the pathway nonsense again, please. If Tella, or any other youngster for that matter is good enough, then they’ll get a game ahead of him or whoever.
  13. Whilst I do agree circumstance did play a massive part in the defeat, I do also think leaving 3 (4 including Armstrong) on the pitch, with Ings and Djenepo playing L/RM was absolute suicidal. Ramsey was a lamb to the slaughter with Djenepo offering absolutely no cover at all. At 3-0, I’d have gone straight to a back 5 and hooked off Adams and just left ings up top alone. It was obvious to every that at 3-0 it was going to get out of hand.
  14. Appreciate it may come across as a vendetta, but that’s not the case. I do like Ralph I want him to succeed, I like what he’s done with us in parts, I enjoy the style we play. However we are either very good or very bad. I don’t buy in to the hysteria he gets and I think he’s just an average manager. About our level. I do however think it’s astonishing that he is seeming under 0 pressure, despite an truly awful run and 2 record breaking defeats. I don’t fully blame Ralph for the big defeats, the players need to look at themselves as well. However, he certainly could have done more to prevent it. Him being under no pressure is it’s more an issue with the state of the club than Ralph though. The ownership and business model we have and operate is an absolute joke. However, people blaming Gao for Ralph’s tactical failings doesn’t sit well with me. You can blame the runs on injuries, but let’s remember Ralph wanted a smaller squad (his words) and he failed to adapt to the right schedule by adapting his high intense system. That’s very poor management for me. I can’t believe that these huge losses are just brushed under the carpet on here, I don’t think people realise or more so want to admit how bad they actually are. A premier league team to lose 9-0, twice in 2 seasons is beyond terrible. Tactically, I think he’s very naive and far to stubborn. I don’t think he has any real plan B and is far to late to react in game. Essentially, everything has to be right for us or we’ll get a hiding. Defensively, I think we are very bad. Far too open and absolutely no leadership back there (not his fault). Is Ralph the right man for us? I’m not sure. I think he’d do very well at a club with deeper pockets than us, where he can change the players to suit his system and it won’t become predictable. He’d be a great fit for someone like Chelsea. The notion that ‘we can’t do better’, I don’t agree with. Especially currently, we probably couldn’t do worse to be honest. I think even I could set the team out for the last 12 games, with those fixtures, and we’d end up with the same points or more. I don’t stand to gain anything but after all, this is a football forum and I am putting my point across. For me, unless we win a cup or get in to Europe etc Ralph’s reign will always be remembered for 2 9-0 defeats.
  15. Nine
  16. Is there any value in selling him for a ‘couple of million’, though? There’s no way we’d be able to replace a player of his experience and quality for a couple million, and Ralph wants depth, so surely it’s better to just keep hold of him? I think he’s got enough about him to contribute off the bench for us.
  17. The FA cup semi final lost its magic when they started playing them at Wembley. Even less so when they allowed Tottenham to have a whole season there. Playing at Wembley isn’t what it used to be. commercially, the FA have done well, but they’ve ruined the integrity of their cups as a result.
  18. He’d have been perfect for us. A shame, we could have offered PL football whilst still living in London.
  19. 1) I think Tangaga is able to play across all of the back 4? He’d probably compliment the other 3 and FB cover quite nicely. Might be wrong on that. 2) Fair argument. Certainly on the more optimistic side of realistic. Although he should be wanting game time, so who knows. 3) Again fair enough, but we won’t have the money to significantly improve this area, so we’ll have to make do. I forgot to add Theo to the in as well.
  20. 20 was clearly an exaggeration, but if he can get a PL team to ship 9, twice, with his lack of attention to setting up defensively when the going gets tough, then It’d be a significant more for a team of part time plumbers against an elite team. You may have played for bad teams, but you’ve never played for a bad team against and elite team, have you. Like I said, an irrelevant argument. It’ll never happen as they’ll never set up in the same way that we do. So I will leave it there.
  21. something like this, with Eloyunossi coming back, would actually represent a realistic and pretty good window for us to be fair. Out Ings Vestergaard dead wood (Hodet, Lemina etc.) In Abraham Tanganga Theo Bertrand new deal or ideally a replacement Obviously ideally keep ings, but its not going to happen. Looks to be the case with Vestergaard as well (although it’s a lot quieter on this front, so a little more hope).
  22. Agree. Suspect it’ll be a full back to cover each side, which is fair enough. Can KWP play LB? I’m sure I saw he has before. I wonder if we’ll go back in for Tanganga? Seems like he has the sort of versatility we’re after, especially if Vestergaard goes.
  23. Clearly a typo caused by predictive text you weird little gremlin. If a premier league team can concede 9, then there is no reason a team full of part time players wouldn’t concede a significant amount more playing the same way we do with significantly worse players. It’s an irrelevant and boring argument because it’ll Never happen due to the way they set up. Something Ralph could learn. You disagree and fail to see any faults in your little boyfriend. Which is fine. He’s not gonna let you suck him off, no matter how much you defend him on the internet. Unbelievable that despite being shown to be an already banned user and continuing your old tricks that got you banned first time the Mods haven’t done anything about it. Especially as you continually try and mock mental health 🤷🏻‍♂️ My mental health is fine but it’s a serious issue, especially in men. So if you want to continue trying to mock it and the mods are going to let you do so, feel free to DM me and I’ll educate you on it.
  24. Because for it to happen once is bad enough, but twice is absolutely shambolic. If you seriously can’t see the difference to confidence, pride and reputation a record 9-0 defeat has over a standard 3/4-0 then let’s just end the discussion here. There’s a reason Ralph offered his resignation after the first one.
  25. Wait, So you don’t think that a 3/4-0 loss is as bad as a 9-0 loss...? 😂
