It's an absolute embarrassment. The worst thing about tonight is they actually deserved to win. No fight, no desire, no class. Not just tonight that's cost us, we were sh*te out there, Milan and Prague. The boards gamble has failed.
-
Absolutely ******** useless. Brings nothing to the team, never runs at a defender always going backwards.
-
Given that every club has charged us the maximum £30 whilst we have charged £20 I wouldn't be surprised. All this £30 cap has done is increased everyone's price to £30.
-
If they want to protest 'peacefully' do it on the high street away from people who they may potentially antagonise or upset.

What has any of this got to do with football? May be missing something but what has it got to do with palastine if Israeli teams are part of UEFA?
-
No, their point is Israeli teams shouldn't be part of UFEA... please give me one valid reason why they shouldn't....? As said previously, football is not the place for politics.
-
It's not peaceful though isit. They're trying to incite a reaction from travelling fans. Why not do this against inter or Prague? Football is not a place for political statements.

Absolute wa*kers. Not welcome at our club. I hope anyone who walks past this tell's them where to go.

Will that fat cu*t who tried to steal someone's Southampton flag be making an appearance? I don't know who's flag it was but fair play to the group of English lads who chased him to get it back. I bet the fat fuc*er has never ran so fast. Also, what about the 30/40 that where supposedly waiting outside the stadium wth sticks

The problem with Russia is that I believe a visa is around £150 so that on top of flights, hotel and spending money will make it inaccessible for a lot of fans. Also the reputation of the Russian fans will put a lot off as well (not an issue for me personally). That being said, apparently St Petersburg is a lovely city! For me, if (big if) we get through, i'd like one of Schalke, Lisbon, Mönchengladbach, Shakhtar Donetsk or Ludogorets.

The attraction of coming to England (most likely stay in London) is much greater, given the supposed security risk, than heading to Israel. If we're lucky enough to get the chance to go there again, I would have thought the numbers will be far greater. I for one will be heading back to Tel Aviv at any given opportunity. Great City. I won't be rushing back to Be'er Sheva however!

The fact they need to score should help us as it'll open the game up. Can't see us not winning this, generally we have a good home record in all competitions... If we don't go through then serious questions need to be asked.

Yes - He's done nothing wrong this season IMO. Not much difference between the 2 now I'd say.

Police Investigations into historical interference with young players
SKD replied to spyinthesky's topic in The Saints
Nope, definitely due to this although I'd have thought the fact he was absolutely sh!t helped the clubs decision. If you remember he spent a couple of weeks out with a mystery 'injury' then played a couple of games for the u21's. The lad in question got a fairly decent pay cheque out of it though c.10K. Assume this would have been paid by the player (taken out of wages / fines) rather than the club. Pretty poor by the club, but I think in situations like that a payout it suited all parties. The lad gets a decent holiday and the club / player gets no bad press or publicity. This is completely different however as it will have a long term impact on anyone affected. -

In no way related or as bad as this, but you'd be surprised at what the club have covered up in the last couple of years to avoid bad publicity. I know of 2 cases where someone has been paid to keep hush around incidents involving 1 former loan player (assault, in the middle of Bedford place - funny enough he only ever played for us again once after the incident and later that season surprisingly joint another PL team where he played once or twice. Now applying his trade at his parent club in the championship) and a current player (Infidelity). I hope if anyone at the club, past or present was involved or knew this was going on, is punished accordingly. However, like you post above, I can't see what the implications can be if this was before (way before) the current owners watch. A lot more to come on this, from a number of clubs, I suspect. -
It's because the FL/FA are desperate to make an example of the biggest, bestest supported, club in the FL (arguably in the country).
-
This was my suspicion as well, but after seeing all the paper talk (one thing I have learnt over the last couple of years is there's no smoke without fire) I suspect VVD may go in the summer. Really hope it's not to Liverpool as it's getting embarrassing loosing our best player to them every summer. Awful business sense, so the club would do it, but I'd sell him to someone in Europe for a cut fee just to ensure he doesn't go to a competitor!
-
IMO we are still missing a top CF and cover / competition for OR other than that I don't think we are far off. Yoshida gets a lot of stick, but I don't think a club of our size could ask for a better 3rd choice CB and from his displays this season I would say he is pushing Fonte for a PL start.
-
yep, same. I've prioritised EL games this season as starting to get bored of the usual PL grounds.
-
You a deluded if you think he will want to stay should the opportunity to go to a top team and a substantial pay rise occur. We couldn't keep our captain who was produced as part of our youth system and arguably owed us everything for him being where he is, we will not be able to keep someone of VVD class who arguably owes us nothing. Doesn't mean hes a mercenary for wanting to leave for a top CL team. If he goes to a club in the city of Liverpool then yes, he is a mercenary.
-
If (big if as it won't happen) we sold our best player to Everton I would imagine it will be the last straw for most of our fans. I think Les has done a fantastic job and I can just about stomach loosing players to Liverpool and understand the reasons for letting Koeman walk, but if we were to sell our best player to a direct competitor (if not lower), I would seriously start to doubt the board. VVD will go, if not this summer then next, I just hope it's to a top team i.e Madrid, Barca ect...
-
Completely agree. He keeps possession well and is very good at passing the ball from side to side, but for me I'd prefer to see someone in there (alongside OR and PEH) who can split the defensive with a forward pass. As shown on Thursday, possession doesn't win you games.
-
Very tinpot. Hate the whole song as it's just an outright copy sung by every club in the country. Can't we think of something better?
-
Still don't see what JWP brings to the table. The usual argument is his set pieces, but when was the last time we scored a free kick or from a corner?? Off the top of my head I can't remember many. Not great given he's a 'set piece specialist'. IMO he is too slow and the fast pace of the PL is too much for him (similar to clasie). For me it's no surprise that his best performances have been in EL and international football. A position we could really do with strengthening in Jan/Summer.

To be fair, we don't really play the diamond anymore - more of a 4-3-3
