This. I'm not convinced its a CF we need. Look at Liverpool... Mane, Coutinho and Firmino aren't out and out strikers, but they're (especially Mane) vital to Liverpool scoring goals. I wouldn't mind a target man for us to hit for a plan B, but for me, we're lacking creativity / composure (in front of goal) in midfield. This is why I think Gabbiadini would be a cleaver move.
-
Also, can we not sing 'he's one of our own' about Jack Stephens as he really isn't. It'd be like Arsenal singing that about Walcott or AOC.
-
I did think that, but then I thought 24,000 trying to log on at the same time is bound to break the system (it's fragile enough as it is). If the club are sensible, they'll phase it.
-
I believe it is around 24,000 I reckon it'll be; ST holders who have attended certain amount of aways ST holders Members with certain amount of aways (will sell out here) Members Personally, I think members who attended x amount of aways should get priority over ST holders with no aways. Also, those that traveled to Prague should get some reward for having to watch that pile of sh!te

our average home attendance is 30,629 so should be no issue getting a ticket

If you're asking if we'd prefer Champions League football or the LC, i'd choose champions league football. Maybe this is just a sign of how our ambitions have changed

Best Excuse from a Part Timer for a Cup Final Ticket off ya
SKD replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
They will. I'm fairly confident that any ST / Membership holder with purchase history will get a ticket. -
Think you need to calm down bud, jobs not done yet

Really not hard, absolutely pathetic atmosphere and I really don't understand why it'd hyped up the way it is. It always sounds better on TV due to the placement of microphones and very large speakers playing you'll never walk alone before the game.

Watched Sims a few times for U18's and u21/23's he was a real classy player who, more often than not, stood out as one of the best players on the pitch. The game that stick most in my mind is the u18's demolition of Pompey, where he, and a few others, absolutely tore them apart. I had my doubts about him making it at first team level (mainly due to his size) but it appears that he's taken it in his stride. Really pleased for the lad. With a bit of luck, next year we'll have him, Stephens, Hesketh and Gallagher all in and around the starting 11. Maybe not as naturally gifted as Shaw, Bale, AOC ect.. However it's easy to forget (shaw aside) these had the saving grace of us being in the championship/L1 to learn their trade. I've no doubt if we where in L1 now, they'd be tearing it apart.

Anyone else get the feeling that this could be related to us expanding the stadium / the surrounding area?

When he's fit and recoreved from the injury he sustained

Redmond was absolutely fantastic yesterday. Running at players with pace (and beating them). Caused their defence trouble all game, until he came off. Not been his biggest fan so far and have been crying out for him to play like that. More of the same please!
-
I'd argue it was a mixture of both. We've been fantastic on occasions but absolutely appalling on others. Maybe he's finally realised that rotation generally doesn't work.
-
Really benefitting from match time. Been fantastic all season and by all accounts a fanstastic pro. Deserves his run of games and it'll be for the new guy to take his spot imo.
-
Yep, I agree with this 100% Hope he learns from mistakes and we turn a corner
-
Fair point, but Liverpool are in top 4 so can't be that bad. I have to admit, we've looked more direct and move the ball quicker in the last 2 matches. Perhaps we've turned a corner, let's hope so as I generally like Puel, just not some of our performances this year.
-
I think he got it spot on tonight, as he did in the first leg. Unfortunately we continue to struggle against defensively strong teams and we've had a number of awful performances this year. We're not going to sack Puel, and rightly so, however I do believe he needs to change his style of play against the weaker teams.
-
Milner and the young lad the week links imo. Get at them and give them something to think about nice and early.
-
I remember the last time they did that... ended up with a certain slip Although it's quite possible that that's just a standard Wednesday night up there. Scum. They should run them over imo.

In all seriousness, maybe one for those more medically trained than me, would the medical staff at the club or hospital, suggest that VVD flys (to support the team) if he has sustained a serious injury, especially a break? Can't see that the club would risk taking him if he's at least not fit enough for a fitness test. My guess is that he'll start, but I'd say he'll either start or not be in the squad at all. No point in having him on the bench
-
basically what happened with 'he's broken his foot'.
-
Would suggest no broken ankle / foot and club are to give late fitness test as previously reported. Definitely won't be out for 3 months as the Sun has suggested if this is the case.
-
Would say he is most similar to Boufal but left footed and will play on the right and cut inside on his stonger foot. Tadic and Redmond are generally more out and out wingers Would imagine next year we'll line up (assuming he signs) Boufal ----- J Rod or Austin ----- Gabbiadini
-
Wasn't a dig at Redmond at all, was pointing out that IMO Gabbiadini is better. Anyway, OP changed to cheer you up
