Perhaps the club see him as a replacement for Gazzaniga, and long term Forster replacement..

Saints Reserves v Arsenal Reserves - FA Cup Match Thread

How can you blame anyone but the manager for this so far Individually players haven't been good enough, but let's be serious, the majority belong in the championship. -
Saints Reserves v Arsenal Reserves - FA Cup Match Thread

Why? Did the manager not pick the team? If we get hammered it's the managers fault for picking this squad. -
If he's out for 3 months as reported, do you think we will get 2? 1 on loan (VVD cover) and 1 permanent (Fonte cover). If we do, I would say its for them to fight over 1 place, next to yoshida if he continues his form this season.

Get the feeling this is just to apply pressure to Napoli... pretty similar to what their doing by saying other clubs interested. A lot of game playing on both sides. I reckon that he'll sign, a deadline day deal would be my guess.
-
Making yourself sound a little bit stupid here mate. If you're not interested then why are you watching SSN? Not every football fans wants to invest money and time playing a computer game, but most (obviously not you) football fans will be interested in the ability of a potential new signing. As said previously, assuming the researcher is any good, the stats will be a lot more accurate than you'd expect.

FFS :lol::lol:

To be honest, it's not that bad of an idea, essentially they're getting a free scout. A lot goes into producing the stats for players (i'm sure MLG can give you details), I guess it just depends on how good the FM scout at the relevant club is. I've heard of a few lower league clubs who use it to as well. I wouldn't be surprised if the 'black box' isn't something very similar

Someone has suggested everyone getting their lights out on their camera, to represent that famous image of Markus holding his, on the 62nd minute (as this was his age when he passed away). Really good idea!
-
Knowing saints it'll be something sh!t and cringey like # w e m a r c h o n Would love to see a massive flag across the bottom tier though. The display they had in beer Sheva was class!
-
No, he said not full takeover. There's a difference. If the figure of £200million is accurate, they'll be controlling stakeholders.
-
Didn't he score arguably the most important goal of the run...? Coming off the bench to score a late equaliser against millwall at home.
-
Sam is from Southampton and his dad is a massive Saints fan. Given that Burnley/Manchester is only an hour or so away from Liverpool, I wouldn't say it's that bizarre at all.
-
Not really saints related but I see Claude's son played for Bournemouth u21's today. Seems he has followed Claude around a bit, so I wonder if we'll see him here at some point
-
Saw someone has suggested on twitter that if the club don't allow the Markus flag, then we should create a just giving page to raise the funds to buy a new one! Pretty good idea if you ask me. I'd love to see a massive Markus flag across the bottom tier with something like 'Markus he had a dream' as a mosaic across the top. Make it happen Southampton FC.

I don't think for 1 second we will build a new stadium. Anyhow if we do and it's at Jacksons Farm, that'll be a disaster. IMO the stadium (for a relatively new stadium) is located in the perfect location. I'd be gutted if we moved from pretty much the center of town. I'd suggest it's more realistic that we expand St Marys and develop surrounding land (as per original plans under Cortese). I'm sure someone mentioned about the requirement of an additional train station if we would like to expand? Well perhaps the plans for a new tram line could assist this? An interesting years ahead I think! Personally, I fell like stadium revamp is required. It wouldn't make a difference to me or you, but these american and Chinese fans would love a modern stadium with top of the range corporate facilities!

Don't talk nonsense. Real fans miss out because some can't afford / don't want to pay £5/£10 membership fee, yet can afford £40 - £100 for a ticket... Have a day off and stop being so bitter that you wont get a ticket. Only thing unfair is that away games don't count for members, and that's coming from a ST holder that attends 18 aways a year.
-
I hope not, but no doubt we'll see a full stadium from now until tickets go on sale hahaha
-
a 1/3 of the tickets will go to 'the football family' and corporate entertainment... No doubt over half of that will end up in united fans hands... Absolute joke really.
-
Yep, agree. Without that, he generally offers little else. Needs more confidence in front of goal as well!

The difficulty of this is that Dortmund and Atletico are generally massive clubs who have previously won European trophies and pretty much secure European football every year. The model works for them as they are able to attract the best youngsters in the world and have the status to command an exceptional fee and they can attract the top players from their respective league to complement their youngsters. Unfortunately we just don't have that kind of pulling power so for us, it is much more of a gamble. That being said it appears to be working, just on a much lesser scale! My concern is when that gamble The Dortmund/Atletico approach would work well for someone like Spurs or Liverpool.

Best Excuse from a Part Timer for a Cup Final Ticket off ya
SKD replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
Absolutely appalling really. 1/3 of the allocation going to corporate who will no doubt be united fans! -
it was handball, but not obvious and can see why the ref hasn't given it. I could understand if the ref had given it and would have been pi5sed off if it wasn't given for us! That said, i think the ref had a brilliant game. Maybe could have issued a few cards to them for stopping counter attacks and probably could have given a penalty for both teams (shirt pull on Yoshida, not too obvious though and Handball for Long, again not obvious), but generally thought he handled the game superbly. He could have easily given a penalty right in front of the kop (which imo was a dive) against Stephens just before we scored. They don't often get credit, but think he deserves some!

First train up, last train back to avoid the rush... Well that'll be the excuse I give the missus.
