Suarez didn't have a release clause... again read the articles.... A massive difference in clauses.
-
Pardon my ignorance but in the guardian article it clearly states; Perhaps people should read their articles before trying to act clever.
-
no it doesn't  It means if we or any other club bid 35 million euros, then he we will be able to discuss terms with the player. It is feasible that his club may accept an offer under 35 million euros however no club in their right mind would bid over his release clause... that would just be stupid. Thankfully you're not running the club aye.

I wasn't referring to what he has recently wrote, it was more directed at some of the 'schitt' he has wrote in the past. I haven't even bothered reading his recent revelations.
-
Even more reason to get Henry in as assistant (assuming he picked up some of the local tounge during his time at Juve...)
-
Out of curiosity (a long shot I know), would anyone be interested in swapping a lower tier ticket for an upper? Got my ticket on Thursday and told my dad my seat number / block ect but being the age he is he rushed and got an upper tier today not too much of an issue if not as we'll both enjoy the day, but will be nice to share the experience together (we'll both squeeze in 1 seat, they're wide enough at Wembley!). Might be one that appeals to someone who has front row seats as you can't really see a thing down there!!

Bull****, I'm just realistic. From what I've seen he is not good enough. You can't honestly tell me that at the start of the season you'd have been happy if someone was to tell you that we'd rely on yoshida & stephens at CB for the best part of 3 months. I'd hazard a guess that I'm more of a fan/supporter than you and the majority of your happy clapping pals on here.
-
Fair play to the lad for having an unbelievable game against Liverpool, but realistically he isn't good enough and shouldn't be anywhere near our first team, let alone starting ffs. Only experience he has had is in L1 where in fairness he performed. However He couldn't break into the Middlesbrough team last year in the championship and had his loan terminated. Even from the u21 (about championship standard) games I've seen he's never really stood out as someone who will make it at the top level. I hope he goes on to have a successful career but I can almost gaurentee that won't be at us and will benni higher than the championship. Very very concerning that he is in line to start the cup final. Ibra must be rubbing his hands together
-
Nah ****** to them. Imo going to every home and majority of away games is more of an effort than coming over because it's a final. I'd say someone that has travelled from abroad for a regular home home then yes, but not just because now it's the final.
-
Have you seriously just compared Shaw to Pogba and Ibrahimovic  Think how much the latter have won in football and will earn the club in shirt sales alone... My point is that VVD is our captain, if we desperately bring in someone not as good and pay him more than the captain, then he will rightly be p*ssed off. We could (imo should anyway in order to keep him) increase VVD's wages so that he is highest paid still, but then you'll have others coming to ask for more. This will leave you with either unhappy players or a completely broken wage structure (you decide what you'd prefer). As a side note, i'm surprised Gabbiadini is reportedly only on 40k a week! For our record signing I'd have expected it to be much more than that.
-
hahahahahaha ta then!
-
I don't get why everyone is shocked about this? it was reported before the Liverpool game he is out for 3 months and the silence from the club was telling.
-
The difficulty is if he comes in at 100k a week, how is that going to make the other players feel. Especially VVD who is captain. My guess is that it'll upset the apple cart and you'll have more than 1 member of the squad asking for a pay rise. sorry just re read and this is pretty much exactly what you've said
-
I can't believe that any falls for anyone of the nonsense he posts.
-
Would be my pick along with Caceres (as long as he drops his wage demands)
-
Any idea who this is?
-
Exactly. Les will come out and claim Stephens was our choice to replace fonte ect.. but the fact we put in a desperate loan bid for Jordi Amat (I mean WTF???) shows that they know we have royally ****ed up this window.
-
This is my biggest gripe. I've been very critical of our style of play under Puel, but he has not been helped by Ross Wilson (i'm yet to see what he brings to the table) and Les Reed who IMO need to shoulder some of the blame for this years performances.
-
Good effort, but for me the only thing that really works is the 'until gabbi I was never happy' bit. However much better than the usual sh!te we sing!
-
Pretty pathetic excuse if you ask me. It has no advertisement or polictical statement so i can't see why the FA would object either.
-
why does everyone think the media have an agenda against us. Personally I think Stelling was right. It was a joke of a squad section that's cost us a place in the cup (FWIW he also had a dig at Arsenals team). It's very unlikely that we'll go down and we're not going to break into the top 6, so why not give it a go in the FA cup as well?
-
 God only knows how they transport all the their kit to and from every game.
-
That's a fair point and IMO would work. However I can't see Les letting him play something that's not 'the Southampton way'. Boufal (the Ben Arfa role) as a false 9 and Jay and Gabbiandini dropping into the wings when we don't have the ball.
-
you've completely missed the sarcasm here I think or maybe I have
-
fair point, would make a lot more sense. Still ridiculous however!
