  1. My God the blokes an arrogant pr*ck. Good riddance, IMO (and others from within the dressing room). I suspect the reason he keeps telling everyone how happy he is in London is to try and deflect the disappointment of not getting the move he originally wanted.
  2. Would suspect this would lead to about 20 minutes of silence as it does at half time, although I agree that song is f*cking pathetic and embarrassing! At the end of the day, as it does with most clubs moving to new grounds, the atmosphere has suffered as a result of moving to St Mary's. Personally, as a regular home and away attendee, I think our support is terrible. We generally take good numbers where ever we play, but we seem to lack imagination and people seem to be afraid of singing something new and therefore we are stuck with OWTS every 5 minutes. For me, we should sing OWTS at kick off, after a goal and on the 85/90 minute mark to spur the lads on for the final few minutes. As much as I hate them, I think the club should introduce the clappy things, as then even those that don't want to sing/stand can create an atmosphere (it seems to do the trick at Leicester). Would also like to see the Markus flag (as at Wembley) go around the stadium before every home game (should help build the atmosphere pre game).
  3. In 99% of transfers the reported sum includes add on's (bonus for winning cups/leagues, qualifying for Europe, sell on fee's ect)... Is it not possible that we have based financials on a worse case scenario i.e we get no add on for sales and purchases we pay all add on's agreed. Would also increase the transfer net spend....
  4. Aren't they proposing to use WHL as the potential home of the London based NFL franchise? If this happens, I would suspect that would generate a few bob in revenue its self. Personally, like others have said, I feel that SMS and the surrounding area needs a bit of a face lift, especially given the corporate world football has fallen into.
  5. Fraser, can you tell us when you were ever class...? from what I can remember you have only ever saved anything that is straight at you... it appears you can't even do that any more.
  6. Generally, under Poch, most of our squad over performed. He has a nack of getting the best out of players (lallana, Lovren, Chambers, Shaw, Jay Rod, Kane) Klopp is similar imo. I tend to agree that Morgan is overrated. I don't really see him as more than an average PL CM. Would have Wanyama over him any day of the week.
  7. We've conceded 16 goals in the last 6 games in which Stephens has started. Not saying that it is his fault, but something needs to change and imo he is the weak link in the back 4. I'd argue to drop Forster as well but we have no replacement for him.

    Redmond

Been very very good recently. It seems he has finally learnt, which most were saying, he needs to use his pace and run at defenders. Seems he is a confidence player to me and he seems to be full of it at the moment.
  9. Said a couple of weeks ago Tadic is better centrally (like he does for Serbia) noone believed me then, but hopefully they are now
  10. We need to bring Careces in. Stephens has done well but I have doubts he has the ability to succeed at this level. We're looking much better going forward thanks to Gabbi so just need to sure it up at the back. If we conceded more than 1 we'll lose imo.
  11. Given he is still unable to get a shoe on (team photo pre Wembley) and was on crutches last Sunday, I reckon it's very doubtful he'll be ready for bmouth. Personally I'll be surprised if he's back this season.
  12. So good that we got knocked out of Europe at the first hurdle, failed to win a cup and will probably finish mid-lower mid table. On our day we are a very good team, but from what I've seen this year, our day just isn't consistent enough.
  13. Aren't you the guy who suggested we should sign Chris Samba on a free.....? Now that's offensive.
  14. I'm sold. Get them in ASAP.
  15. Yes, you're right. A very lazy google of fixtures on my behalf, which obviously hasn't account for United & Arsenal
  16. Just sh!te then.
  17. So with 13 games to go we are 14 points behind 7th place Everton and 10 points behind West Brom in 8th (with a game in hand on them both). at the other end of the table we are 6 points clear of Leicester & Swansea (15th & 16th) and 8 points ahead of Palace in 18th (again with a game in hand on all 3). Are remaining fixtures are: Watford (a) Tottenham (a) Bournemouth (h) Crystal Palace (h) West Brom (a) Man City (h) Chelsea (a) Hull (h) Liverpool (a) Middlesbrough (a) Stoke (h) United & Arsenal (h) - dates officially TBC I reckon we will pick up around 10 - 15 points and end the season 11th. Personally, if we fail to make top 10 I would regard this season as an unsuccessful one, given our European and FA cup runs.
  18. Agree, however i'm not convinced that Davis is defensively strong enough to play as a 2.
  19. They've already started. I've seen 'he was taken away in an ambulance', '40 or 50 where jumping on his head', 'he got absolutely battered' and so on. In reality he probably took a wack or 2 (as expected and I'd hope we'd do the same) and walked out fine continuing to berate them as he was in a head lock by 3 stewards.

    Markus Flag

Owned / stored by the club I think. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe Kat didn't like it, perhaps at the time it was all a little raw for her? As some time has now passed, i'd love to see that going round St Marys before every home game.. Think it'd help raise atmosphere before game as well.
  21. Same team other than Caceres for Stephens. As well as we played it's easy to forget we conceded 3 and the 3rd was specifically Stephens fault for leaving the bank for 4 and not tracking Zlatan quick enough. Not taking anything away from the lad though, other than that he was alright and will learn from mistake but as we currently have a keeper who doesn't save anything, we need to sure up defense. Would be tempted to drop Forster, however we have no replacement for him. JWP, Redmond and Tadic have earned place in team following performance Sunday. It'll be interesting to see how we respond and how much Sunday has taken out of us.
  22. Nope, I'm with you! it's one of the best saints kits I can remember. Personally, i'm not a fan of stripes.. would much prefer us to adopt the red sash or the reverse Ajax style.
  23. Unless it's straight at him (basically just hitting him due to his size) he doesn't save anything. Should have done better with the first 2 imo (maybe 2nd is slightly harsh)... If we get a decent offer for him over the summer we should cash him in and find replacement
  24. Yes. I think Davis and PEH are our best CM pairing.
  25. Think we should go 4-3-3 for this. I know we've been crying out for 4-2-3-1 all season, but I think that may leave us too open. Look to control the middle and hit them with pace on the counter (like we did against Liverpool), which is why I'd have Redmond starting. Tough one to choose between Tadic and Boufal, but I think recent performances Tadic just edges it. Important we get the first goal and not give them as many chances as Liverpool had in 2nd leg, as they will put at least 1 of them away. --------------------Forster------------------- Cedric-----Caceres------Yoshi------Bertrand -------------------Romeu---------------------- -----------PEH------------------Davis---------- Remond-------------------------------------Tadic -----------------------Gabbi-------------------- United have been in unbelievable form recently, but if we turn up (performance wise) and they are only at 85/90% we can sneak a result. Heart says 1-0 Saints (Gabbi) head says 2-0 united (Mata and Ibra).
