Next summer is a big one. It's likely that we could lose 3 of our back 4 - Hopefully Les gets replacements lined up early.
-
7/10 for me. Would have taken this as an excellent window at the start of the summer, but our lack of goals / creativity is a concern (hopefully we will reintegrate Virgil, which will free us up to become more attacking).
-
The only way this would be possible was if we were to sell VvD. Even then, i'm not sure we will pay what he will expect (he's not worth over £100k a week).
-
5 of them are still playing in the PL and another could easily still be if he wasn't such a head case. I'm telling you for a fact the reason why we didn't send players out on loan, but you believe what you want

First full season under poch (13/14 season): Bourc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw schneiderlin Wanyama JayRod Davis Lallana Lambert Davis, Chambers, Yoshida, Puncheon, JWP, Gaston, Fox, Cork, Osvaldo, Guly Is just as strong, if not stronger than what we currently have. The issue was it was difficult to find someone willing to pay what we wanted for our younger players. That was down to Cortese, not Reed.
-
No, that's rubbish. Cortese always wanted too much for our players that other clubs wouldn't pay (ridiculous loan fee's and all wages paid). LR's comments were just a smoke screen. Our team back then was much stronger than it is now.

I bet Everton's is top notch.
-
Agree - assuming we keep VVD, which I think we will. We do clearly lack creativity though and I've no doubt that Les has seen that as well. Personally, I think it's going to be another wide forward, when for me, we are missing creativity in the middle of the park.

Vietto - Loan, option to buy.
-
Why? Links in with what Tom28 said? 2 incoming attackers, one big one should we let him go?
-
**** em, it's what they are. They've demonstrated that throughout this whole Saga. If they don't like it, they're more than welcome to get a job (unlikely in Liverpool, I know) and stop spending their life reading other fans forums/tracking planes/gobbing off on social media.
-
Is this true though? a quick google search shows Romeu's pass percentage as 85% vs 88% for Wanyama. Wanyama's passing was in no way as bad as what people made out. That being said, I think there would be a place for both in 1 team. Romeu is closer to Morgan (composure on the ball, ability to bring the ball forward, good at intercepting through balls) than Wanyama. IMO, we miss Wanyama more than we do Schneiderlin.

Gabbi is twice the player of Austin. He demonstrated last year that if we give him the ball in the box, he will stick it away (that goal, on the turn, against united in the final, proves he's natural goal scorer, to me) and he has pace to play on the shoulder (unlike Austin). The trouble is, the service we are providing him is poor. Currently we are too slow (on the ball) and too easy to play against.
-
No, he's always been a 'defensive mid', however in Holland he was played more as a deep playmaker.. picking the ball up in his own half, playing defense splitting passes. but in Holland, he would have had more time on the ball and it wouldn't have been as physical. I'd actually like to see him given a go in the AM role, I think it'd suit him.

There were a few idiots - some even claimed that Cork was better.

If true, then I will have the up most respect for Les and the board in how they have handled this window. In all honesty, I think it's a very sensible approach. Every player has their price and as long as they leave on our terms (we decide where and how much), everyone's a winner. Come Friday, Virgil is probably going to have a massive decision to make. Does he sit out all year, meaning he hasn't played competitive football for 18 months (who will pay £70m for that?!) or does he sack his agent, apologise and blame it all on him, get his head down for a year and move to someone bigger than Liverpool? I cannot wait to see the disappointment in those arrogant, victim seeking, ****s faces come end of the window. Stay strong, Les.
-
I'd be very jealous of this Lemina, Romeu and Krychowiak would be an unbelievable set of DM's to rotate
-
No chance of getting him unless we sell VVD to the victims, but if we do and we don't get Shako in return, that would be criminal, IMO.
-
No it's not. It's investagive work which strongly links together and doesn't look good. It's not yet in the press, but after the incident earlier this window, is it any surprise both parties are keeping hush.
-
Agree. It doesn't look good, for us or Les.
-
For me, I'm judging that the price / wages he would demand. Aren't Everton looking for something around £50m and he will expect over £100k a week. For me, he is not worth that, but I do agree he would get into and would be a key part of our side. If you could get him for around £30m and under £100k a week, he'd be a great signing. Can't see it happening unfortunately.

 I like Davis, don't get me wrong, but this is up there with the biggest load of sh!t I've seen on here to date. At best, he is a good player. He isn't and never has been great and he's defiantly had more than 3 bad games. For me, most of the time, he's consistent. He doesn't really impose himself on games but in the same light, doesn't really do a great deal wrong. I assume that given this blatant biased opinion, you are mates with him (hence your snippets of ITK)?
-
yet we score from little to none of his crosses? IMO JWP is too slow and weak and brings little to the team. There's a reason that he's still with us and that is because he's bang average. If he hadn't come through our academy he wouldn't have half the support he gets.

Getting old, needs replacing ASAP.
