If we are playing both Romeu and Lemina back, then I'd prefer to be more aggressive upfront. Personally I'd play Boufal instead of Davis in this specific line-up, just my opinion though.

I think we need more scoring punch. I don't buy into the mantra that yesterday was just a "one-off", we saw the same movie too many times last year with the same players. We have a whopping 2 guys who have proven they can score with some regularity, Gabbi and Austin, so I propose switching the formation to accommodate them. We can't tie our way to the top, but we can tie our way to the Championship. How about the dreaded 3-4-1-2: Forster Cedric- Yoshida-Bertrand Romeu-Lemina Tadic Redmond Boufal Gabbi-Austin

I didn't see any reduction in play with Austin on for the last 25 minutes. However thats not what I meant, I don't advocate pulling Gabbi for Austin. I guess I am thinking about a 4-4-2, or a 4-3-3 setup where they both play. If we go 3 upfront, then Gabbi, Redmond, and Austin (for example) play. I don't think this would slow down our play and gets our best scorers on the pitch. It may leave us more vulnerable at midfield, but maybe Redmond can drop a little in the middle so its closer to a 4-4-2. Just spitballing here, but after watching the same thing last year also I think more tweaking is needed.

This is why we need to find a formation that gets both Gabbi and Austin on the pitch together. We just don't have enough other scoring.

Agree with much of the above. With a sole striker it needs to be Gabbi as first choice, backed up by Austin if there is an injury, as a 2nd half sub, or if we have a lot of games together. For a setup with 2 or 3 upfront, then Austin comes in alongside of Gabbi. I wouldn't read much into who played and who didn't though. Austin, Clasie, Targett, and Hojbjerg all didn't play, I doubt this means they won't factor into line-ups. In fact I would guess a rotation was set up earlier in the week knowing we had 2 games in 4 days.
