  1. I think we've parked the bus in a 0-0 home match at the 20 minute mark.
  2. Strangely I find myself rooting for Leicester now
  3. I don't really agree with this "teams need to play 1 striker now" philosophy. Teams played 2 upfront for decades and it worked. I think it all depends on the players you have. Its my belief, after watching this team with Puel and MP, that we don't have the players to score in a 1 striker approach. So I advocate trying something different, going 2 or even 3 (gasp the horror) upfront. Something needs to change. All systems can work and all systems can fail. There is no absolute.
  4. Yes, just like MP Puel wanted more pace but wasn't scoring. He saw Austin start to score in in Europa and made some small changes to put him in. He scored something like 6 PL goals before he got hurt. This is what MP needs to do, unless he wants to keep "drawing" his way to relegation.
  5. I will make my weekly statement that we can't win if we don't score. We have exactly two players who have proven they can score, Austin (leading scorer last season and had 18 two years ago) and Gabbi (good scoring record the last half of last season). They have to play. How many more matches do we have to go through where we lost 1-0 or tie 0-0/1-1? When does MP admit his scheme isn't working with our players? What good is a little extra pace doing for us? I'd rather score 2-3 goals per match and have less pace, than run all around the midfield never coming close to scoring. I'm not a Puel fan, but he grasped this quicker than MP. The rest of the squad I don't really care about right now, but I guess it would be something like this: FF Bertrand-VVD-Yoshida-Cedric Boufal-Romeu-Davis-Redmond Gabbi-Austin
  6. I don't know. Just 2 weeks ago he was left on the bench for a Championship squad, and a bottom one at that, and also seems to have lost his striker position. Why would he help us?
  7. Man, why can't we get a coach like Puel?
  8. Long for Tadic, thats interesting.
  9. Or Redmond for JWP. Boufal would have been the last one I would have replaced.
  10. If he wants Redmond out there, why not for Tadic?
  11. Redmond for Boufal
  12. Boy have we come out flat this half, no energy at all
  13. We've slowed down to a crawl
  14. This looks like some kind of passing training for our defenders
  15. Well it was a good first 5 minutes.
  16. Seagulls always struck me as a ridiculous name for their team. If its going to be a bird then make its something mean, Seagull is about the lamest bird there is.
  17. Great start! Nice goal by Davis there. We look pretty good (or BHA looks horrible). Don't know which yet.
  18. Very random selections. Not starting Yoshida, starting JWP, no Austin on the bench. These just seem out of nowhere.

    Jimmy Melia

He's coaching youth football in the USA now, for a club called Liverpool America.
  20. I don't know about his fit at Leicester, but I do know he's moving in th wrong direction. From the French Riviera, to Southampton, now to the middle of nowhere. Can he even get a good bottle of wine in Leicester?
  21. +1. I'd basically start the team that finished the match, and pretty much finishes every match. If its good enough when you are desperate and need to score, then why not at the beginning too?
  22. MP seems very stubborn. Once he's made an initial assessment of you then that's it. Guys like Boufal, Austin, and JWP have been heaped into the "if I need goals late" category, and guys like Redmond and Tadic can do whatever they want and stay out there. You would think that since every game we can't score, and then he throws the Boufal/Austin/sometimes JWP team out there in desperation and gets chances suddenly, he would rethink his positioning. However he doesn't, and its worrisome.
  23. I would give the team that ended the game a run now. It may not be as "pacy" as some of you like, but pace doesn't score goals for us. This team with Boufal, Gabbi, and Austin in has our most potent, direct attacking players. I'm sick of this passing it around, watching Long do nothing, just going for a 0-0 draw team. Lets be more direct and put more pressure on the defense.
  24. ManU does not look ready to play. Looks like they spent last night at some pubs instead of the hotel.
  25. We can't have a squad of pacey midfielders. We need guys who also score, which is the job of a striker. Austin does this very well. Who cares if he doesn't have the pace of a Redmond, he knows where the back of the net is. Long has more pace but a lot less goals. He should be given a run. He as our top scorer last season and has scored 18 in the PL in past seasons. Who else do we have that has ever done that?
