Dear fellow saints,
I am Jamie, son of Malcolm (Saint Malc/Philly Saint). I just want to say that my family and I have been touched by the wonderful tributes on this thread, which we were made aware of by the club. Thank you all so much. He was a dedicated, selfless and loving man, and we will sorely miss him. It means the world to us to have that community support from those associated with his biggest passion: Southampton FC.
As a family, we are in the process of arranging a funeral and other tributes to his life. As such, I am looking to collate stories, photos, newspaper articles (perhaps about his semi-pro football days), etc. to remember him by. I recognise a few of the names mentioned on this thread, having attended so many football games with my father over the years, so I know there will be people who have some great stories. Rut, I fondly remember the games we went to together—not least when we won 2–1 at Anfield and even Brett Ormerod scored. Also, I think I recall you ‘losing’ thousands of pounds when a youthful Robin van Persie scored deep into Wenger time at Highbury to ruin you audacious 2–1 bet after Rory Delap scored two identical headers at our end.
Any other tales or photos and tributes, related to our beloved club or not, please email me. The address is: jross597@gmail.com.
Thank you,
Jamie
