The population of the city and the fanbase is continuing to grow so that will be necessary. That shouldn't have been a problem as it was terracing in those days and there was a group of several thousand Saints fans down the front of the Forest end so you could have joined them. Maybe you couldn't see them if you were at the back of the Forest end but from the Saints end they were very visible, to the right of the goal as we faced it. Off the pitch, I preferred '79 to '76, when United fans filled 3/4 of the stadium. I remember a Saints fan beating down the United fans at the front of our end, with a huge wooden flag pole. In '79, however, we got the majority of the neutral tickets.

Yes, you meet them as soon as you walk down the steps from the tube station, and once the game has kicked off, they sell tickets for less than face value. I expect the final attendance will still be a few thousand short of capacity.

Why would they need to, anyway? It's just people showing off online. Only 71,000 tickets are going to the 2 clubs. That still leaves another 20,000 tickets, many of which will become available online or outside the ground and, even then, a few thousand will still end up unused, leaving the attendance short of capacity.

Stewart is being saved for his 120th minute sub appearance at Wembley so that he can score the winning penalty in the shootout. They can't risk him having any physical contact before then as they know he is as fragile as a Ming vase. Hopefully, he'll only be doing non contact training, practising his penalties. They should put Bazunu in goal for that as he can't run out and trip him up.

Well, certainly in terms of buying the Northam season tickets, it looks like fans have responded extremely well. We should see much improved home support next season.

It's proving remarkably popular. Only a few hundred places left, and this season isn't even over yet. This must be a record for season ticket sales in the Northam or any end Southampton has ever had in its history.

Football fans are football fans, whichever club they support. How they react depends on results.

I remember when we fielded a weakened side in our last league game v Arsenal before we played them in the FA Cup Final. We got thrashed and the confidence was well and truly knocked out of the team so that in the final it looked like we were just trying to avoid another heavy defeat. The danger is that if we get thrashed by Leeds, our chances of beating them in the play-off final, if we reach it, will be reduced.

The Northam season tickets have sold very well. There are only a few hundred standing places left in Blocks 40-45. Block 46, in the corner, is less popular but there need to be a few places left for individual matchday sales anyway.

I remember at the time Russell Martin was leaving you, reading a message on a Swansea forum saying, "Now we can get rid of our sh!t goalkeepers."

Is there a table for shots on target faced? If so, I'd expect it to show that the problem is the lack of shots saved by our goalkeepers rather than the number of shots on target allowed by our defence.

It's scheduled to be ready for next season. Presumably, it will be trialled in a pre-season friendly first. There are safety procedures to be adhered to so it won't be rushed.
