Spurs fans seem surprised that a Premier League club wanted him as they believe a Championship club would be more his level. "It is fairly obvious this KWP will never make it. He is a local lad, yes but he has had so many years to improve. The weight, the strength. He is and never will be a premier league player. I wish him all the best." "I think he's bang average and he's lucky to get the opportunity in the premier League" https://www.thefightingcock.co.uk/forum/threads/kyle-walker-peters.20453/page-51

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal
Nordic Saint replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
The difference is we've lost most of the games Valery's played in. Football is a team game and our team gets much better results with Cedric at right back than it does without him. -

Whoever thought his performances were "f-ing shyte" is a f-ing idiot. Our last 10 league games with Cedric: won 7 Drew 1 lost 2. Goals against 10 Our last 10 league games without Cedric: won 1 drew 1 lost 8. Goals against 28 -

Not true at all. The owners' priority may be getting money but the fans' priority is success on the pitch. I'd say we were all very happy with the way the team including Cedric, has been playing lately and were looking forward to things continuing the same. If there was going to be a big change in our back four, the summer would have been a better time to do it than mid-season. -

I agree with you. Just when our team is doing so well with a settled back four, we shoot ourselves in the foot. We could at least have kept him until the end of the season to give ourselves a chance of competing for a cup final and a Europa League place. Without him, unless Walker-Peters hits the ground running, we're likely to start shipping goals again. Our last 10 league games with Cedric: won 7 Drew 1 lost 2. Goals against 10 Our last 10 league games without Cedric: won 1 drew 1 lost 8. Goals against 28 -
We've lost most of the games Valery has played in so I'm not sure that his return to the team would be such a good thing. To be fair to Valery though, our results when Cedric hasn't played have generally been terrible.

Or the likelihood that we'd have already beaten Spurs 1-0 if he'd been playing instead of an unproven youngster.

In our last six league games without Cedric, we drew 1, lost 5 and conceded 18 goals. So, unless Walker-Peters slots in immediately and proves to be just as good as Cedric, this move could cost the club millions of pounds in lost league prize money. Kat and Gao are letting their greed get the better of them because their short term gain of a few hundred thousand pounds could very well turn into a loss of millions.

In our last six league games without Cedric, we drew 1, lost 5 and conceded 18 goals. If we do let him go, it's probably going to cost us several million pounds in lost league position prize money. -

For those who don't appreciate just how important Cedric is to our team, it's worth having a look at our results this season when he didn't play. It's almost like our team falls apart without him: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cedric-soares/leistungsdaten/spieler/112988 -
Saints v Spurs (FA Cup) Match & Reactions Thread

I can remember us taking over 10.000 to White Hart Lane for a league game in 1966. We packed the Park Lane End, which in the days of terracing had more than double the capacity of the Northam. -

He was way out of position at the time. He should have stayed at the right end of our defensive line. He constantly drifted out of position, leaving Son unmarked. Son almost scored another goal in almost identical fashion. Danso was a very obvious weak link today and if he plays again, other teams will do the same to him. -

The club needs to encourage fans who want to sing to get behind the goal at the Chapel end and move any fans who don't want to sing from there. That's what Palace have done. If we'd had a kop behind the goal at the Chapel end to influence the ref, they'd have made sure that handball was checked by VAR. Spurs fans certainly would have done if it had been a handball by one of our players at the Northam end. This nonsense of our potentially noisiest fans dividing themselves into 2 small groups hidden away in the corners of the away end is ridiculous and it is having a negative effect on results. -

We deserved to win and with better finishing we would have done. Stephens and Ward-Prowse were superb. Danso was such an obvious weak link that it was only a matter of time before one of Son's raids down the left flank resulted in a goal. Danso slipped up and was lying down ten yards out of position when they scored. Stephens was constantly trying to coach him and direct him throughout the game but he couldn't watch him every second as he had his own job to do. -
It's already sold out on 3 sides; there are a few seats left in the Chapel but they will be sold out by tomorrow. https://tickets.saintsfc.co.uk/PagesPublic/ProductBrowse/VisualSeatSelection.aspx?stadium=SM&product=FH19FO&campaign=&type=H&productsubtype=HOME&productIsHomeAsAway=N

Wolves definitely had a masterplan when building their squad. They have gone for height, strength and speed. Ironically, Traore was the only player in their team who was not over 6 ft tall but being 4ft across at the shoulders makes up for it. The £50 million they paid for Traore and Jimenez was money well spent. It just goes to show what you can achieve in the transfer market when you have wealthy, ambitious, Chinese owners. Unfortunately, we don't.

It was our collapsing midfield which let us down after half-time. All attempts at pressing were abandoned and the initiative was handed to Wolves, who couldn't believe their luck. It was almost like our midfielders had turned into traffic cones. We didn't have an effective midfield again until the subs came on. I guess they had been told to stay back and defend the lead and not let Wolves score early in the 2nd half but what it did was take all pressure off the Wolves defence and midfield and left them free to pour forward.

I watched Kelvin Davis conducting the pre-match shooting practice. The best, surprisingly, was Bertrand; the worst by far was Che Adams. He really looked as though he doesn't know how to shoot. His shots were weak and off target. If Kelvin himself had been shooting, he couldn't have done any worse.
-
What were the odds at half-time against Wolves winning? 500/1? 1000/1? It is incredibly rare for a team winning 2-0 at home to lose a game.
-
Yes, Wolves fans won a few decisions for their team today. Foe example, the ref wasn't going to give Ward-Prowse a yellow card but then you could see him change his mind after the Wolves fans roared for it. Sadly, we don't have any noisy fans behind the goal at either end who can influence the referee.

Ted Bates kept the bid secret from him so he knew nothing about it until many years later.

The way tickets sales are going, it looks as though there aren't going to be enough tickets for our fans. But, that's the way our ticket office operates nowadays: let the opposition have as many tickets as possible and take the smallest possible allocation they can for our own fans.
-
They never had rotation or resting players in Ron Davies's day. Barring 1 or 2 injuries, the same 11 played all 42 top flight league games plus cup games.
-
A couple of 'More tickets for Saints fans' banners outside the ticket office and on TV for the Spurs match would be effective.
