  1. They'll probably put Dean and Mason in charge of the review.
  2. Time to bin incompetent, biased officals like Mike Dean and Lee Mason. It's not good enough just suspending them for one match and letting them return yet again to cause more problems: "Dean will not be in charge of VAR for the next round of Premier League fixtures after being given the weekend off following the controversial events at Chelsea. The 54-year-old retired from on-field refereeing at the end of last season but has remained involved with the Premier League as a VAR." The Premier League brings in the best players from the rest of the world so why not bring in the best referees as well? As a bonus, they are less likely to be biased for or against particular teams. There have to be better officials out there than Dean and Mason so why not replace them?
  3. We won the last 4 games of the 2015/16 season: Villa A 4-2 Man City H 4-2 Spurs A 2-1 Palace H 4-1 What a great season that was. In the 2014/15 season, we won 8 games out of 9: West Ham A 3-1 Newcastle H 4-0 Swansea A 1-0 QPR H 2-1 Spurs A 0-1 Sunderland H 8-0 Stoke H 1-0 Hull A 1-0 Leicester H 2-0 In 2000/01 we won 5 Premier League games in a row, without conceding a goal: Leicester H 1-0 Bradford City U 2-0 Middlesbrough A 1-0 Man City A 1-0 Everton H 1-0 Molineux must be one of the few away grounds where we've scored 6 goals twice and, of course, Wolves are the only team we've scored 9 against in a league game. I was lucky enough to be at 2 of those games but I'm sure there must be a few diehards on here who were at all 3.
  4. Watchng Erling Haaland play football is like watching the Terminator vs ordinary humans. He's now scored more goals in August than any other player in the history of the Premier League. I wouldn't be surprised if he broke the all-time scoring record for every month of the season.

  6. Most points won from losing positions? Has to be Southampton's Fightback Kids. They are the best team we've had since 2016.
  7. I was relieved he was subbed when they were 6-0 up at St Mary's in April. The rest of the Chelsea team were content to take it easy for the final half hour and didn't seem bothered about breaking the 9-0 record but he would have gone all out for more goals.
  8. Now this is what you call being good at set pieces:
  9. I liked the MOTM vote, where everyone could vote for their favourite player regardless of how he played. At least that's what I did.
  10. I feel so sorry for them.
  11. I'd prefer something not like McCarthy, like Caballero or Lis.
  12. The new owners, new coaches and new players are beginning to have an impact. The Fightback Kids, the youngest team in the Premier League, are only going to get better. Of course, we still need the experience of Che Adams, who just turned 26 last month. Exciting times.
  13. He's very underrated by many Saints fans but he's one of the best defensive midfielders in the game. He'll do well at Real Madrid if Spurs are prepared to let him go. They'd expect at least £40 mill for him though.

  15. Is he just a harmless lunatic or are we going to hear about him one day on the news and say there were always signs?
  16. Does that mean he's banned from his parents' bookshop as well then?
  17. Let's hope it doesn't take too long for Ralph to learn that, with the players he has, 3 at the back doesn't work. It just leaves us totally exposed. When he did it before. it was, in effect, 5 at the back, as he just needed an extra central defender to cover for Vestergaard, but the way he's playing it now, we really are left with only 3 defenders, which is suicidal when they are players of such limited ability.
  18. And they've got Mitrović: one of the best old-fashioned centre forwards in the game. He's 27 and at his peak now.
  19. It will be interesting to see how many games he gets this season. I expect he'll at least play in some cup games: Former Celtic hero gets the last laugh after hostile return to Scotland (67hailhail.com)
  20. You're right. Even Eastleigh have got a better goalkeeper than him. I had a ticket for tonight's game but when I saw McCarthy's name on the team sheet, I decided not to go. He just annoys me too much. I'll go on Saturday though as I'm optimistic he won't play then. It would be useful if they notified us more than an hour in advance when McCarthy is going to play so we can stay well away.
  21. We were one of the top teams in the Premier League last season for putting high crossses and corners into the penalty box for a tall striker we didn't have to head the ball into the net. I assume those will be our tactics again this season but hopefully, we'll have a new striker who is good at heading.
  22. So, 1 win in our last 16 games (the 1-0 v Arsenal). At least if Ralph plays Bazunu instead of McCarthy, we should get a few more scoreless draws. Gyökeres scored for Coventry at Fratton Park today and of course he scored against us at St Mary's last season. I think he could be the tall, 10+ goal a season striker we need. He's a Swedish international and still only 24 so maybe not too old for our owners to turn a profit on.
  23. And we thought 9-0 was bad: Blue Jays 28, Red Sox 5 (Final Score) on MLB Gameday
