  1. We need an inspirational young manager, like Kompany, to win the Championship. Fonte would be our best bet, working alongside Selles, who isn't going to be sacked, whether we want it or not. As for Potter, he'll get better offers.
  2. Well, that was clear and obvious.
  3. It's the same people but they were young and happy then.
  4. Your predictions are reasonable but if we go on a little run and beat 2 out of Forest, Fulham and Brighton, we might just scrape home. The final game of the season will be massive and hopefully a repeat of the same fixture 7 years ago to this day, when we came back from 0-2 down to win 3-2. What an end to the season that would be.
  5. Seven-year-old is carried away in tears after heartless goalkeeper SAVES his shots (msn.com) I wish somebody would carry Adam Armstrong away.
  6. I think we all understood that you compared Tella's goals total from 3/4 of this season with Adams' and Armstrong's totals from the whole of their best seasons, and stopped reading at that point. 😀

  8. You mean, maybe we could open him up and Nathan Tella would jump out?
  9. It's ironic that his goals will see Burnley in the Premier League next season and our lack of them, us out of it.
  10. It's a simple fact whereas your post is just another of your emotional outbursts 😀
  11. Nathan Tella's scoring record in the Championship is better than Adam Armstrong's by quite a big margin. Adam Armstrong scored a goal every 3.3 games in the Championship. Nathan Tella has scored a goal every 2 games there. Update: Tella's latest hat-trick means he's now averaging a goal every 2 games.
  12. Spurs' fans love him. "Fraser Forster is my nomination for signing of the season." "Forster doesnt create anxiety for his team, thats massive. hes a better keeper than the clown lloris" "I so much prefer him to Hugo. He can actually play football and pass the ball. Couple of good saves tonight as well." ""FRASER FORSTER/Crazy Horses" chant going in the SE corner.... Especially after the penalty save!"
  13. It must have taken a hell of a long time to turn him round.
  14. And then there's reality. Kelvin Davis conceded 93 goals in 53 Premier League games, with only 8 clean sheets, at an average per game of 1.75

  16. I was at that game. It was definitely one of the more enjoyable ones. I was also at Fratton Park when we beat Pompey's first team 7-0 in the John Milkins Testimonial. That was even better.
  17. I had a look at a Blackpool messageboard. The fight took place outside the designated away pub. Presumably, the Burnley fans who'd been told that was the designated safe pub for them to drink at would not have gone there looking for a fight. Of course, it's very sad that anyone should die in a fight between groups of football fans. The victim was a legend known to all Blackpool fans. 18. If Forest beat Everton by 2 goals, we move up to 18th.
  19. McCarthy is the worst goalkeeper we've ever had in the top flight. Bazunu may well prove to be the next worst but at least he's so young that there's still hope he might improve; McCarthy never will.
  20. Our most vocal fans do that for themselves. Instead of forming a large group behind the goal at the home end (the Chapel), they divide themselves into 2 small groups and lurk in the corners of the away end, where they are easily drowned out by a large united group of away fans and are least likely to be seen or heard by the rest of the crowd, the players and most importantly, the referees. When there's a big away following for an FA Cup game, they disappear completely. The only reason they seemed louder in the Championship was that away teams brought far fewer fans there and so home fans filled most of the Northam. I say, 'they' because I'm an old man now but when I was younger I used to stand behind the goal and sing louder than most. When we were at the Dell, we dreamed of having a large covered home end like we now have at St Mary's, which makes it all the more galling that it isn't used. At away games our most vocal fans are forced to stand together in one large group so at least our away support is not too bad. Hopefully, the Club will put the safe standing area in the middle of the Chapel and create a proper home end. But, the fans have to play their part.
  21. I guess if Caleta-Car had dived first when he was more firmly tapped on the back, there would have been no penalty. The lesson, as is often reiterated on Match of the Day, is that if you feel contact in the penalty area, you have to go down. It's very silly ( a bit like a Monty Python sketch) but, unfortunately, that's the way it is nowadays.
  22. 1. A. Armstrong 2. McCarthy 3. Bednarek
  23. But the stats show he also struggled at Man City. Saints B team put 6 goals past him in his last season there before he went on loan to Rochdale, where he also struggled: Gavin Bazunu - Stats 19/20 | Transfermarkt Gavin Bazunu - Stats 20/21 | Transfermarkt
  24. GK? We haven't really got anyone you'd trust in that position, have we? I guess Caballero appears to be the least inept of the three but maybe that's just because we haven't seen much of him.
  25. He needs to grow into Fraser Forster fast. No normal person has his superpower to dodge shots that look certain to hit him. He's like Keanu Reeves in the Matrix.
