  1. Same as Pochetinno then. I wonder if our fans will all turn against him when he leaves too?
  2. Borja Bastón and Denis Suárez. TCDAJFU. Problem sorted.
  3. The 2 main coaches in the Academy who helped defenders like Luke Shaw and Calum Chambers were Jason Dodd and Paul Williams. They were both sacked.
  4. Clyne and Schneiderlin didn't need to be wrapped in cotton wool. What's the point in buying players who need protection from physical Premier League sides, unless they create, score or stops loads of goals in the few games they can play in? Anyway, let's hope the club has learned from its mistakes and buys stronger, fitter players in future.
  5. How come strong, fit midfielders like Steven Gerrard, Cesc Fabregas and Santi Cazorla regularly played 90 minutes for years without any problem? It's the intrinsic poor strength and stamina levels of players like Clasie and Ramirez which makes them unable to do that. Not everyone's born with the physical assets you need to be a Premier League player.
  6. Forrest really impressed me too when I saw him play for Scotland at Wembley.
  7. Wanyama is the best defensive midfielder in the Premier League. On The BBC radio commentary tonight, they said any team would be lucky to pay £30 million and get him. Let's hope none of the others do. He's our star. His tackling, interceptions and sheer physical presence have always been immense but tonight the quality of his passing was what helped win the game for us.
  8. The pace of our attack and the number of attacking options both increase dramatically when Pelle is absent. I'm not writing Pelle off. He'll still be a very welcome addition and score plenty of goals, when the games slow down on warm days in August, September, April and May.
  9. At his best, in the first 20 minutes vs Spurs, Clasie looked like a frailer version of Ward-Prowse.
  10. Saint86 is spot on. The wrong people are getting blamed for the downgrading in quality of the squad. That's not the fault of the manager or the senior players who've stayed and watched their team mates sold off around them. Do you really think they wanted that? They've just had to get on with it and bear the brunt of the unfair criticism.
  11. The latest is that the deal is for an initial 18 month loan. In exchange we have had to give them first option on Wanyama. This is all gleaned from the internet. I am not ITK. As the Norwich game is on January 1st, he probably won't be available for any of those 3 games.
  12. A lot depends on whether Forster and Chambers are going to be available for the 2nd and 3rd of those games. But, if they are: Saints 0 Arsenal 3 West Ham 0 Saints 0 Norwich 0 Saints 0
  13. It sounds like we are about to do our best bit of transfer business for a long time and bring back Calum Chambers.
  14. Some Saints fans seem to be of the opinion that when we finish 7th or 8th, we're overachieving. If we are, it's not by much. However you measure the numbers, attendances or size of fan base on social media sites, SFC is about the 12th biggest club in the country. It would probably be a lot bigger if we won a trophy or two, as that's what really attracts large numbers of fans. There is an element among our fans who like to style us as a little club, but that's not what the numbers say. A mid-table position with an occasional top 6 finish and a cup win every now and then is what you'd expect from a club this size. It's certainly far from overachieving. We've got so used to underachieving that we've come to accept it as the norm.
  15. Tonny Vilhena has not been a regular starter for Feyenoord this season. But, he is young so he may be one for the future. I wouldn't expect him to be ready for the Premier League this season. What we really need is someone who can come straight into the team in January.
  16. Stekelenburg - 4 Cedric - 6 Martina - 2 Caulker -2 Van Dijk -6.5 Romeu - 5 Clasie - 3 Juanmi - 4
  17. Davis, League Two. Please pay him off now Cedric, lower Premier League Yoshida, lower Premier League. Clasie, Dutch league Gardos, Romanian league Fonte, top Premier League Long, lower Premier League Davis, lower Premier League Rodriguez, Will he ever come back properly? Not knocking him. He was good before his injury. Mane, top Premier League Tadic, mid Premier League. Wanyama, top Premier League Romeu, mid Premier League Van Dijk, mid Premier League Martina, Dutch league James Ward Prowes, Championship (but young enough to improve) Harry Reed, Championship (but young enough to improve) Pelle, mid Premier League, but not for a whole season Juanmi, lower Premier League Bertrand, top Premier League Steckelenburg, Championship Ramirez, Argentine league Caulker, Championship.
