  1. I think both fans and the club have been a tad arrogant in thinking that the likes of west ham, stoke, crystal palace splashing out money and trying to motivate and inspire both the fans and players, is utter stupidity. Not saying we should do the same but I think moderation is key, and in times like now we need some inspiration and motivation, and so do the players.
  2. HNY to you too. But can you name anyone in our midfield part from Davis that has any offensive qualities in open play? All our midfield players combined haven't scored 10 goals in the past 2 seasons. Tells you a lot about that lot.
  3. I looled, but sadly it's accurate, we're woefully short of quality, esp for the system we play. If redmond was a mane who could actually run at the opp defence and goal instead of away from em he'd of gotten more or less 8-10 goals by now, I mean think of the gilt edged chances he p*ssed away. And if our "shuttlers" we even remotely attack minded and technically adequate, we'd have another 6-7 or thereabouts goals from midfield by now. But we have ******* jwp pretending to be a shuttling midfielder? When he can't carry his own @ss up the field never mind the ball.
  4. Actually there seems to be no tactic currently that would magically make us non sh*tty, new and better personnel are needed IMO. Especially in mid and attack also assistant manager, can't fathom why all of Black's failures and recent embarrassments are tolerated here. He ain't so unique and special that we can't replace him. But tomorrow I'll be praying we don't get humiliated, by our recently departed manager no less. I'll take a good performance and a draw all day.
  5. Really looked forward to both previous games, expected a draw against spurs and a comprehensive win from the west brom games, shattered by the results and the manners in which we got them. And now no vvd and the dreaded fonte Maya partnership of last season, an out of form and confidence Forster, a misfiring forward line, jeez! Guess its time for a whipping. I say 3-0 but more likely worse, and by the fat PR*ck too. What a sh*tty week.
  6. We scored freely BECAUSE of the quality players who departed, mane pelle nivea. I mean redmond "henry" wasn't even supposed to be a starter when bought, now he's undroppable for puel. Tadic and boufal, I think are proper replacements for nivea and mane, the latter tho still debatable. Other than those two big vic, sneiderlin, pelle haven't been replaced by similar quality, we struggle in midfield BC our mids are pint sized and far from skillful, and we struggle offensively BC our forwards are again pint sized and in the case of long are hopeless at finishing.
  7. So f**king ugly to realize that your team is nothing but mediocre. All our players are championship standard at best( except vvd and boufal), meaning we clearly could be relegated were it not for the very few (vvd) players we have. Success of past seasons IMO came about as a result of better management and a few more quality players( mane, Pele, nivea, spiderman, Vic, clyne). Now we're low on a) quality players both in midfield and attack B) we have a poor, uninspiring manager who looks to be a poor, poor man's Wenger.
  8. What the actual f#*k is the solution to the forster issue tho?! He's been out of form practically the whole season, and his deputy was about to be a crystal palace THIRD choice when we signed him. Were we seriously going to play a prem game with the 40 year old guy whom I don't know how long its been since he played a competitive game never mind a prem game b/n the sticks while McCarthy was out injured tho? Seriously?
  9. somehow play boufal and tadic at the same time, is the only thing i can think of and redmond benched. boufal created quite a few chances for us against hull after he came on. him and tadic creating, austin scoring should be the answer IMO. No idea WTF is with j rod, but redmond isnt creating enough or scoring enough IMO also doesnt look like him and boufal can play togather too well, they just seem to get in each others' way.
  10. Man, if boufal ever goes, its gonna be to barca or real madrid or some sh*t, JUST CLASS. seems eager as well, gave an earful to jwp for a mis-hit pass to him. awesome.
  11. maybe its just me but I really feel sorry for Morgan, I know how ready he thought he was for man u (and he probs still cdjft) in his first interview for them and how out of our league he must of thought he was in his last season with us, and now being basically non existent in a team full of 90 mil players, getting less game time than a 30+ year old carrick who everyone thought was done there. what is he? FIFTH in the pecking order? come on, that such a huge shame such a talent is just rotting there.
  12. well i guess its true, we do have a sh*t load of games. anyway I'm glad he's coming back while we're doing so well, otherwise the pressure on him to change our fortunes would of been a tad too much IMO. and NFS, I was thinking more about easing him into the team and the pl as a whole as he seems to have a slight build and he's also just getting back from a long term injury (4 months?) giving him more chance to adapt regardless of his price tag (which btw I thought was 16m)
  13. Redmond aside, who'd you get him in for? frankly if Redmond wasn't so out of sorts and not looking even remotely like a striker, I wouldn't have been surprised if boufal stayed on the bench for a no. of games. I mean we don't even know where we'll play him, is it tadic's role or Redmond's? or both? I think a low risk game will be needed to experiment.
  14. they might hold out on sacking him if they can't replace him before the Leicester game. as said before tho jaidi might get the nod?
  15. the kid in Charlton mentioned in the video, I think is ademola lookman, 18. I believe us as well as arse, Liverpool and maybe some others were reported to have watched him repeatedly. as for black the more I think about it the more I feel like the club may not sack him and actually give him a chance to defend himself as I don't think he says too much in the video.
  16. was in the dug outs today, so sacked in the morning then, good riddance IMO, why'd we go in for him anyway? clearly not for his impressive coaching credentials, aren't there any better bilingual coaches out there?
  17. And Wtf is it with people saying we should rest players in the Leicester game and not the HBS game? wtf, Top six in the pl is not set in stone and even if it was we are perfectly capable of finishing 7th with the quality we have. who the feck has a better chance apart from Leicester maybe, to crack the top six this season? please don't say Everton and their skeleton squad!
  18. IMO puel doesn't believe so much in the "our strongest team" idea, of course we have an idea about who the best players for each position are, but he sees it as, rotate the squad as much as possible and hope whoever gets picked performs well, and then pick the really impressive ones for the really important fixtures. as opposed to a predetermined notion of who's better than who. so whoever is performing best ATM get the nod for the must win games. as for HBS I'd pick hesketh, cuco, reed, targett, yosh, long, clasie, jwp to start as I think that team could at least get a draw. the shuttling CMs and full backs cover a sh*t load of ground for us so hoj, Bertrand, Davis, Cedric should rest up, IMO.
  19. I was never too interested in other pl teams and their yearly spend of 100s of millions, its all just numbers on screens for us anyway but, its almost like some lame soap opera tho, some big club spends obscene amounts of money one summer, they get some primadonnas with over inflated egos, season starts, primadonnas rumored to have their egos bruised, primadonnas go on a rant on live TV, big club underachieve, rinse and repeat next season. teams like us who were successful that season get a fraction of the coverage to get our facts reported, no more, no less.
  20. would be successor to Barry the geezer at Everton, but could be neat if we give 'em(Everton) clasie and we take Spidey. HBA would be a massive waste IMO if he came here, the article mentions that he doesn't wanna be treated like other footballers but he needs love and adoration, jeez we don't need no princesses here. players like IBRA, and this guy are IMO ancient. modern footballers are grafters no matter how talented, I mean look at griezzman, de bruyne...
  21. on the bench against wetspam instead of jwp maybe, would be good, either way I think he's gonna get a fair few starts in the pl and Europa this season then become a regular next season, seems to me he's the next lallana, certainly plays like him. let's hope he stays longer tho. looks like we have 4 no10 contenders then(including Redmond). INTERESTING POSSIBILITIES! indeed...
  22. My two fears are, first, yoshida playing without fonte or vvd, second, palace having incredible wingers( if they play) and with the diamond being weak to wing play, i fear about targett and cuco getting murdered and we essentially get a tonking a la liverpool cup game last year. that'll knock down our fragile confidence. my hopes are that this'll be a chance for us to dig up a gem from the academy, hesketh, Stephens may impress massively and force themselves in to puel's plans.
  23. players can adapt tho, and so can(should) Austin if he's to be regular starter, I mean look at nivea he was a 60 min player for us now klopp has got him running for days, he's basically a milner. athleticism is a must for a modern day footballer, one dimensional players like Austin don't have a place. IMO to most teams(including us), a player like long with THE crappiest finishing ever, but whose pace and work rate are top notch, is way more valuable than Austin type players BC halfway decent finishers who offer more like jrod will capitalize on chances players like long create so you don't need a non mobile, unfit but deadly finisher in the side.
  24. Me, I expected little in the summer got even less, koeman leaving was a curve ball but tbh I was more excited about the prospect of finding a poch-esque manager, then we hired puel which wasn't exciting in the least. When we were linked I thought it rubbish like the giggs, Neville links but turned out to be true, so I read up on him and was a bit excited about what he did at nice last season so crossed fingers he works out, jury's still out on that one. All in all The biggest let down for me was that I was hoping we'd clear some dead wood permanently or temporarily to make room for potentially great players who could act as cover for now and be starters in a few seasons. Deadwood IMO are players like yosh, gardos, cuco, j rod( temp), even u23s like isgrove, gape and the like who defo have no real future here and replace them with more promising same aged or younger players, but we decide that our deadwood is good enough and we played everything by " only what's needed an nothing more" absolutely no attempt to take next step, just to maintain current status( this still debatable). So have I lost interest? No way! Just underwhelmed, but will still do Everything I can to support and follow saints you just can't give up like that can you? But.. Ask me the same question if we get to the point when we become barren of any good players and we have to fight tooth and nail just to stay in the top flight season after season after having to hire a tony pulis, fat Sam mkII, then I'll probs have a different answer.
  25. Sure but the whole idea of bringing through youngsters is trusting them to be better than current Senior players in certain circumstances, like the happoel game surely we must utilize some of the most promising of the lot. I'm sure in the domestic cup games even koeman would of used some youngsters had he no other choice or if he didn't wanna burn out the seniors, but picking them over the seniors when he didn't have to, is the difference b/n him and puel.
