This guy looks extremely quick for a cm looks like he could play in any wing position too seeing as how on whoscored.com one of his strengths is crossing. We could be getting a really good player here. Can get past his man with pace and trickery, can protect the ball under pressure, can win the ball with a tackle also pulls out some occasional 30/40 yard crossfielders aswell.almost Looks too good to be true.

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day
way down south replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
i mean i get why puel would prefer smaller more technical players in midfield because he did so well with mendy, koziello in nice and both were no taller than 5ft 5 but once we saw that neither one of clasie davies or even jwp were technical or mobile enough and hoj wasn't the finished article yet, we should have parted with one or two of them then brought in a more mobile and powerful cm to come straight into the team this season. it cant be that 95% of posters on here are voicing concerns about our midfield and all of us are completely wrong and clueless. every other team in the pl has decent mobile and powerful cms. capue, dembele, kante/matic, ramsey, herrera, arter(slightly), even ndong etc... -
we all know les aint going nowhere anytime soon. we could sink all the way into league 1 and he'd still be here doing crappy pr vids.
-
silver lining is that this is the perfect kick up the bung hole leslie needs to go out and sign some quality. what we've been doing up until this late into the transfer window is beyond me. last seasons issues aren't going away with prayers and 4th choice cbs after all.

Suing Liverpool for "turning VVD's head"
way down south replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
vvd striking helps liverpool enormously. not only is he forcing us to sell him but is also not giving us adequate time and leverage to negotiate a good price. bc if we keep him against his will, then it means we lose millions of ££ just to prove a point and risk unsettling the squad, if we sell, especially to the dipper cnuuts then it makes look like spineless cnuuts. im just glad i dont run the club, so should everyone on here. -
could it be that we sell him to a club outside the pl albeit at a lower price? 40-50mil plus maybe addons without strengthening and satisfying the already huge egos in the pl seems a better outcome than getting 60 mil plus addons then watching the dippers or other entitled ***** fans creaming themselves about themselves, also playing against him next season several times isnt ideal not to mention we'll seem like spineless c××nts if we do sell to the dippers.

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day

IMO just like vvd is highly unlikely to go to a non champions league club unless things go very much sideways and we HAVE to get rid, like fonte, its highly unlikely nigh on impossible that siggurdson will come here. why? simply b/c he has much bigger clubs after him. aside from everton i reckon some of the other big boys may hold an interest in him. -
its a bit of a dilemma i think. if we sign someone better than stephens to partner vvd which i think we should if we're to kick on, then that means blocking stephens and consequently his development. and it would be such a shame to not see him fulfill his potential. but all evidence suggests that leslie will stick with stephens so its a win either way..

end of the week will hopefully be when we'll all see the end of this b#lls*it. i do wonder if we'll ever have a regular summer where we worry about signing players to improve us instead of losing our s##t about our star players leaving or our manager leaving or leslie shooting the bed with his decisions. anyhoo, palace fans seem to think they'll get whoever we reject as he will choose us over them.

How important is our next managerial Appointment?
way down south replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
personally i don't think reed is a pleasant person to work with never mind work for as he seems to have a bug up his bung hole. IMHO he never lets a manager or anyone else at the club have the freedom to work outside the strict set of rules he likes to call the soton way. which by the way counteracts the sh00t he talks about in his disastrous pr videos. you cant claim to harbor ambitions to play cl one day and then not spend any money or hire a manager remotely capable of realizing that ambition. either he severely lacks intelligence or he likes taking the shoite with fans. either way you have no choice but to blame his nonsense talking a**. Just my opinion tho. -

i read the article on the echo today, jesus we have a s**t ton of restrictions that it seems the best we can attract is either bland no ambition types like puel or desperate coaches looking for a second chance and dont have any other offers. I mean the financial restrictions, the bureaucratic nonsense where you have to leave everything transfer related to wee ross, everything club related to leslie. seems like the manager role in our club is reduced to about 25% of the actual manager role. it says we want an experienced, fairly successful, commanding personality type manager, who in fooke's name with a "commanding personality" is willing to just work through these shackles and have wee ross and especially leslie breathing down his neck?! I think we need to buckle up as we'll probably settle for another puel type or a desperate previously failed manager looking for a second chance, which presents a huge risk as we cant be taking any chances next season. -
i think the wilson article actually implies it is indeed tuchel that we'll probs get in. it says the club is aware of his difficulties at Dortmund yet he still won the cup. kinda tries to convince us he's a winner in any circumstances and doesn't go into detail to put us off him. so I'm clutching at straws.
-
from the very little ive seen of him he doesnt seem too technically gifted nor is he very fast. just a grafter going up and down the touchline, and scoring a few (which we admittedely lack) but maybe thats why we'll let him go.

Other Premier League Transfers - Deadline Day
way down south replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
thing is that teams who seem to have had a very good summer end up struggling during the season. i predict man c everton(crossed fingers) and arsenal will massively underwhelm next season probs man u and west ham as well but thats far from unusual. -
This. How i look at it is, i lived in africa a few months with my brother for work, and he had this indian friend and he bought and sold cars with a profit for a living. I dont know how he does it but the thing is that he had to sell the cars no matter how much he enjoyed and liked them because otherwise he'd be out of business and he couldnt afford to keep every good car he had. Same with us, we buy van dijk we have him for a season or two but we cant afford to give him everything he wants aka 200k wages and champions league football, so we make a profit and he gets what he wants from the liverpools and the mancitys. Win win.

Please sell Dusan Tadic to Liverpool
way down south replied to Golac's Iron Gonads's topic in The Saints
unless we're banking on boufal coming good and not planning on signing a younger playmaking forward, a sigurdsson and the moroccan fellow whose name surprisingly escapes me as i have been dreaming about us signing him for two seasons, i wouldnt be against selling tadic for obviously more than the 13m being brandied about. 15-20m seems reasonable for a player with good ability but who is not as good as he thinks he is. obviously less natural talent than boufal but better at playmaking than him, but extremely inconsistant, i mean he has games where he cant complete a five yard pass, he's missed clear cut chances more times than i can recall and he's been invisible in many many games since he's been here. we do need an upgrade on him IMO, we'll sell if we got someone lined up. -
well i for one couldnt give the slightest bit of s**t which hairdresser with an odd name he's bedding unless it has implications on why he's not scoring on the field. this ain't Hollywood and he ain't brad pitt. just some halfway decent striker in a midtable team.

Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
way down south replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
As some on here pointed out, unless its the pay out thats taking time, its highly unlikely that they havent decided what to do about puel yet. Its been weeks since the season review ended. As for the takover, well its twice now that lander decided they got the deal over the line and both times reports to the contrary came out of the club. Are lander such amateures that they dont know to hold off the champagne popping until business has concluded officially? Jeez you get the impression that they dont know what theyre doing each time this happens and kat grows more weary after each of their premature celebrations. I wish the club would put out a progress report if as lander seem to have us believe, the deal will actually be completed. Or if its not happening at all and lander are clutching at sraws here. Would save us a s**t ton of speculation. -
Not much room for stephens or maya but what celse can you do? Semedo and stephens togather is a little too short in pl experiance to be trusted week in week out. Start with maya and sakho for a few of the first games then ease semedo into the fold with sakho until the seasons end. Then maybe flog off sakho next season after semedo has found his feet or keep him and sell maya to a midtable team. Theyd take him after his form last season. I see im getting a little ahead of myself here..

If vvd does go it will definately be for a record fee for defender. But that could be 50m plus addons. Like mane for 34m plus addons was about 38m total. What do we care about the price anyway, as long as its not a rip off. All i care about is that we get atleast 2 more cbs. One young enough to develop to be as good if not better than him and one experianced enough to plug the hole he leaves immediately. Semedo for 20m and sackho for 15m will do the trick IMO. We might actually be getting the better deal than the club that buys him if that happens.

Like most others on here i think its best we give puel time. But whats even more crutial is that we fix whats wrong with the squad before getting to the manager. IMO first sell the players who looked hopless under puel last season. Like j rod long tadic b/c keeping them while not playing them will just lead to poisoning the dressing room. Then get players who will most likely suit our style or rather puel's. Which IMO means an attack minded mid who would do jwp job better, maybe a DM who contributes to attack and a powerful goal scoring wide man to compete with redmond. Boufal will most likely improve with a full season and good pre season prep under his belt, so will hojbjerg in which case we may not need that DM. This is given that vvd bertrand and cedric stay. I dont think we need anymore strikers as austin was scoring before his injury and we know gabba is suited to the style. Gallagher will make a good back up. Then we see how it goes in the first 10 games of the season because we will pretty much be able to tell how the season will go after the first 10 games. Just like last season was all nil nil and 1-1 draws and narrow losses in the first few games and after that the whole season was that way. Next season will be determined by the first 10 games if we do well and get goals and points on board then we'll probs have a good season.. but if not then buckle up because itll turn to s**t so fast after that it'll make our heads spin.

If we do sack puel, i give the poor uber german sod to have an out campaign with his name on it after 5 games. We're not a chelsea team ready made to be champions or even top 6 so a charismatic german comes and gets us competing for a top 5/6 spot immediately. We need a reality check me thinks.

And i bet if you asked the fans if theyd choose to have had 20% of the ball and had 3 shots total but still won 1 nil and got the cup. Theyd snap your hands off. Results and goals are what matters to most fans and clubs alike. Trying to play good football while youre at it is all well and good. But never at the expense of goals and results. Probs why koeman is held in such high regard as is morinho. Both are as pragmatist as you can find but they get results doesnt matter how. I mean man u were playing like the underdogs in that game, yet they won so the fans dont give a s**t.
