Nobody would add their own private money to a business unless A. They were completely minted or B. Completely mad ! If your business needs extra funds you get a business loan and pay it off in a structured business viable way. That way if you struggle and can't pay it off you fold the business and walk away clean (as long as you are Ltd). To risk your own nest egg be it the house or bank balance is insane !
