What an idiotic thing to say! Administration means a huge deduction of points, doing what the bank tells us to do means sell the high earners if possible. Are you seriously suggesting that not selling Rasiak, Saga, Euell and Skacel woud save us at least 15 points this season? Adminstration would mean certain relegation, without it we've at least got a fighting chance.
-
My apologies for feeding the troll but asking what 'plan B' is assumes we aren't already on plan Z. We're playing with kids and selling off the high earners because that's the only option we have left, and that frankly is that.

Well if he does go to Watford on loan at we should be able to negotiate it so he can't play against us in October. Hopefully by then he'll have established himself as the focal point of Watford's signature 'hoof it up to the big man' style and they'll flounder without him handing us an easy victory. Then by the time December comes Saints will be financially secure after sell outs at every match and Greg can come back, force his way back into the Saints side by February and score a hattrick against Watford at Vicarage Road

This rumour was about yesterday as well - isn't the pupported 24 hours up yet?

I can't see us winning this but maybe we'll luck a draw? 2-2 please

I shall be there for my first game of the season - and sat in the Chapel for the first time since we were in the Premiership. I seem to have a 'mojo' working that we win when I sit in the Itchen, but I don't want to break that by sitting there for a game I don't think we can win. I shall of course be back there for Blackpool

Forest Sunderland a TV banker surely

Cheers for the highlights link - glad I didn't sit through the tedium of the Leeds match just for that. At least I'll get to see decent highlights on Saturday (from behind the goal in the Chapel )

I love the way we've gone from having 4 defenders to 10 in one fell swoop Odd that there's no Racine, who seemed to be on the fringes of the first team during pre-seasom, but there is Byrne who I'll shamefully admit to never hearing of. -

I do think he looks better at right back than centre back, but he's not great going forwards which makes him the wrong sort of rightback for JP. Centreback he scares me.
-
No one really knows - I would expect we're doing our damnest to offload the lot of them and they're excluded from the matchday squad since it would be disruptive to the team to include them just before they leave. If however it comes to the end of the transfer window and we haven't got shot of them then I would expect the likes of Euell, Rasiak and possibly even Skacel to start figuring in first team squads. Perhaps not Thomas though - it seems that Jan just really doesn't rate him.
-
Never hated him, met him once before Norwich away in the relegation season and he was perfectly friendly and approachable despite the fact that I'd pigeon holed him as he was walking from his car towards the ground. Always thought he came across as a bit of a **** in the media and like many here I was glad when he was forced out although I can't blame him for relegation. Also like many I'm glad he's back, we've seen the alternative and it's not pretty.
-
Not sure about that - you've got the obvious 'wall' still lined up in the penalty area along with the Saints players lurking just outside the box ready to charge in once the kick is taken. You could be right about it being close to the final whistle though.
-
I'm trying to work out what's going on in the picture - it looks like Saints have a free kick on the edge of the area. But there's no sign of the opposition keeper? Any idea Gecko?
-
Good to see John in the squad - I think it's best to start with McGoldrick since he's on a run of goals but John is a superb option from the bench. Jan obviously has as much confidence in Thomas at centre back as most of the posters on here.
-
I do hate the way it's labeled as "Lowe's strategy" when, as a couple of people have pointed out, it's the same strategy anyone in charge would have to follow unless they happened to have a few hundred million quid kicking around to burn. People need to stop making this all about Lowe and face up to certain painful realities.

Only managed 18 appearences with Elfsborg in 3 years. Shame - he looked a real talent once.
-
Surely that thread just started out as someone pulling a quote out of this thread?
-
Where ever he's gone (and however he got there) I wish him all the best. Always thought he did a difficult job well.
-
I'm surprised so many people are leaving McGoldrick out of their starting line-ups. If a striker is on a run of goals you don't drop him, especially against opposition where there's a good chance he'll be able to extend that run. I'd start with McGoldrick but bring John on for him early in the second half.
-
You wait and see, I've been right before. Never about Saints winning admittedly but you never know
-
McGoldrick 4 goals in the last 3 matches? Add another 4 in this one with Thomson and Lallana weighing in to give us a fantastic morale boosting 6-1 victory (late goal conceded after substitutions disrupt the previous dominance). COYR

Behavior like this sickens. One of the problem is it's far too easy to get into trouble that's not of your own making. You commonly see at away games large groups of Saints 'fans' winding up the locals - often when they've got the old bill to hide behind. Of course the locals don't go after the large group where the odds may not bein there favour, but they'll go after the couple of blokes away from the main group who are trying to stay out of trouble...
-
Saints players really didn't look happy about that goal being given - very curious whether it really crossed the line. Of course if it did we'll have the forum full of fools criticising Kelvin for letting it in - despite the fact that it sounded like we'd have lost by a country mile if not for his saves. COYR
