I thought Pelle looked a real handful tonight and will give centerhalfs something to seriously think about this season. You could see he was getting a bit frustrated by the quality of service tonight or the pace the wide men were getting it into the box. Wasn't very impressed with McQueen, got into a lot of good positions but faltered with the final ball. Give Pelle decent service and my opinion is he will score, he is a bloody man mountain. All the players from last season were definitely a class apart, Clyne and Chambers both shone for me, shame they play the same position. Non of the youngsters really stood out for me as definite candidates for the first team, but for many it's the first time I have seen them play, and clearly it's pre season. A very solid display, never looked like we would lose it but never looked like we would run away with it.

Just a couple of things about the Veho Pebble Chargers. This is indeed the case. 3 keeper kits with alternative sponsor logos depending on clashes with opponent/opposing keeper/ref. Not 100% sure if the 3rd keeper kit will be on sale. IMO its the best one !

I also think there has been an element of poisoning direct to players over the new regime, as its evident many of the want away players had decided long before the end of last season they were moving on. The other major factor is that the agents will have seen this as their prime opportunity to get the clients moving on and earn a big fat commission.

Apologies, my comment wasn't really meant as being critical of the signing. Just that the gamble didn't really pay off on this occasion, but imagine if it had. We did know the Osvaldo history so its probably an expensive lesson learnt, but it could have easily gone the other way and if he or any other £15m striker investment had added a further 8 - 10 goals we may have been seriously pushing Europa places.

Just imagine the difference a really good £15m striker could have made to our season. Quite an amusing article though and especially like the Spurs gone missing poster campaign for the £30m Erik Lamela.
