  1. I think he benefits from having Fonte to tell him what to do, kind of like with Lovren really. He wasn't really rated in Netherlands, I heard.
  2. This is exactly why this Leicester side really is something special. Compared to this Spurs performance or even us last year! Might be one of the most mentally strong teams I've ever seen, even if they might not have the supreme talent compared to old United/Arsenal/Chelsea sides. Also, I think Pochettino will go back to Spain, he isn't interested in creating dynasties, he's in it for his own career. Same for most of these players, only exception I think is Kane. I could see him staying even if it all went to ratchet for Spurs in the future. In fact I hope he doesn't go, I like him and I want to believe there are still players out there who have a connection with the club.
  3. Would be a shame if Leicester didn't win the league, but on the other hand I really want us to have another shot at Europa league. Also, Pochettino has been good for Spurs, but I think if they hadn't spend all those seasons in EL they wouldn't be as good as they're now. You can only beat what's in front of you and frankly I don't see us ever getting better by beating the likes of Newcastle who, no disrespect, were absolutely shocking yesterday. I honestly believe the only way to truly progress as a club is to gradually build up and reinvent yourself time and time again, things like Leicester happen only at best once in a generation. So hopefully we can get that 6th/7th place, even if it's a bit of a pipedream.
  4. I think we deserved a penalty from Huth's handball: https://streamable.com/ryr2 But to be fair to Leicester, I honestly thought they were the better side. Also what was that Koeman, counter-attack with Pelle up front? I like the man, but I think we need to find another manager in a couple of years, I don't think we are getting past 7-8th place with him. That is while the league is going to get even tougher, with well run clubs like M'boro coming up from the Championship.
  5. I quit watching after they went 2-0 up, but to be fair we never make comebacks, especially against Liverpool! Feels so, so good. Another shot at Europa next season?
  6. If we could get absolutely anyone, I'd take Tuchel, he's going to become the next great german manager in the vein of Klopp. But since guys like him are out of our reach, I'd take previous Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Lucian Favre, despite the way it ended for him I think he did a really good job with that club. Apart from that, if the club finds a bright, young, english manager who has a philosophy suiting to ours, we should go for it.
  7. Absolutely. If we got another chance at Europa league and keep our players, then I could say that was a lot more than I was expecting at the start of the season.
  8. Same old same old, I just know that if we concede first, we are done. Every time I watch Southampton I have my fingers crossed that please, please don't concede on the first half. If we don't we usually might get something out of the game. If we do, we lose the game.
  9. It's just awful, it really is. Alright, no Clasie, but what's with all these misplaced passes and losing possession constantly? We could barely get out of our own half. I can take us losing, but a performance like this...
  10. While I'm glad to see Koeman doing better than I expected this year (I expected us to be around 10-12th this year), 40 points at this stage wouldn't get you into Europe in a "standard" league season. Also, while we have been a lot better defensively, in the last four games we have had three 1-0 wins and one 0-0 draw. Shades of last season in that sense, I feel he needs to work out a way to make our attack more potent. I still have that feeling that if we concede one first, there is 0% chance we will win the game.
  11. Well. I wouldn't have guessed in Christmas that we might end the season -improving- our league position compared to last year. But I got to say, things might really be starting to click for us now.
  12. Apart from the goal it hasn't been anything spectacular really. Weird how West Ham seem to always turn it on against all the big teams and then be so sloppy against everyone else. Robin Hoods of the Premier League.
  13. Well I got to hand it to the board, Austin for 4 million? Loving it already. Also 8th in the table, wouldn't have thought it could get this good again around Christmas.
  14. Yes! Mind you, I haven't been following QPR so I don't know how good he has been this season...
  15. Targett assist!
  16. Unbelievable, just unbelievable.
  17. I am really starting to feel we are the Crystal Palace to Arsenal's Liverpool. Knocking wood though, still 45 minutes to go...
  18. Koeman you genius! I mean, Martina?!
  19. Dear Santa, all I hope for this year is that Saints win a game. Regards, Jarakka.
  20. Precisely, no progress and we're still woeful. I've been cautiously positive about things but it's about time we started getting some points on the board, there's only relegation candidates below us right now. I dread the day when Mané is gone, where are the goals going to come from?
  21. Indeed. Actually, I'm not even that disappointed that we only managed to draw, I was fully expecting us to lose it 1-0 which would've been completely typical for us. I feel that while this team is clearly not as good as it was last year, it's also going through some poor form right now and I think we'll start having some unexpected wins at some point. Not going to finish top 8 though, that's certain at this point. It did look pretty promising couple weeks ago, but... 6-1. If we hadn't had such a good season last year most people would be satisfied with us just not getting relegated and establishing us as a mid-table prem team. I mean it took a while for Stoke to turn into Stokealona and even Spurs with all their money are having a tough time to break into top 4.
  22. I really wouldn't mind if we would sell our players to foreign leagues, to big clubs like Bayern Munchen. It could give us more options in the transfer market so that we wouldn't have to dread for the eventual sale to Liverpool/Spurs/United and again make it double as hard for us to get European spots, if that really is the next goal for our club. Also a Stoke-Barcelona type of relationship would be amazing, no doubt there's some great youth products in larger European clubs who just aren't quite ready enough to make it to first team, but could make a huge impact for a club like ours.
  23. Maybe performance wise yeah, it's just that this is a home game against Liverpool of all teams. The transfers, the commentator/media bias, seeing their team score 3 before half-time... It just depresses me.
  24. For the first time this season really it really does hurt to lose, damn. I just can't watch this to the end, absolutely gutted right now.
  25. Of course not because I'm a moron, that's why.
