I thought from the various threads on women's football that being considerate of "birds" and "chicks" was woke nowadays, as is cancelling people for their behaviour? If even they don't support this guy, then that's a sign he wouldn't be remotely welcome here.

Is he the physicist guy who worked for BP? Think he was thoroughly discredited as motivated by book sales - not a credible climate scientist.

Hardly the same quality of players that we lost to Liverpool over those seasons. Don't get me wrong, they are doing OK, but not at the levels we were then, and a long way to go before they can be considered anything special or unique.

So strange watching the half then coming on here and seeing the dismay. We look by far the better team, controlling the game and looking dangerous. Missing var, otherwise think we'd be one or two up. Expect us to break them down second half. As a defender, I'd absolutely hate to play against edozie - their right back will be knackered by about 65mins in.

Brighton are where we were a while back, for sure, even down to their black box, but they are no great shakes compared to our peak. They've lost caicedo, could be analogous to us losing van dijk. they will have their purple patch and drop just like we did, just like every other club that isn't drenched in year on year money.

Infantino said it in his speech: "We didn't lose any money and we generated the second highest income of any sport, besides of course the men's World Cup, at a global stage." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66541044

The women's world cup in australia has generated the second highest income of any global sport event, behind only the mens world cup. Seems pretty major to me.

Probably too expensive for us. Can see her going to eridivise, or as a director of football at a lower prem club, maybe us in a couple of years, but not sure our fan base is mature or supportive enough. Hopefully she'll stay england manager for the foreseeable.

Rm slapping down any negative vibes on bazanu. Fully behind him, fans should be too.

I think sell on fees could be important, Chelsea are not top of the tree, and can see the Saudi league throwing huge amounts of money around. Imagine if van dijk goes there for 150m, that could be a nice chunk of money for us. We can't keep relying on striking gold with the next big thing.

In no way is that a penalty, goalkeepers are allowed to come for the ball and provided they do not charge the players, are allowed physical contact even if they don't get a hand on it. Basically if they have their knees high/raised, then it's a charge and it is a foul. If they are flailing for the ball and don't get it, it's not a foul. He is clearly leading with his arms and upper body, so not a foul. Bazanu does this all the time.

Agree with some of that, but "just" benali is absolutely a bona fide club legend.

Ken monkou last minute winner?

More Burnley racism at the man city game yesterday - would be surprised if Tella would still be keen to go there after their last few weeks.

Sam field, 6ft3 defensive mid from qpr.

Not sure about greatest but I think he is probably in our top 100 players since the premier league was formed, so will be a loss. Having said that, he might be a bit cultured for this league. I think we could be stronger in the long run if we have more of a defensive bite in midfield.

Nottingham forest. The worst game of football that has ever been played, at any level, by any team. It drilled a hole in my soul that may never heal.

In the championship, where we are, 6 of the 9 winning teams had more possession than their opponents.

Don't let the pompey lot see this or they'll be down there with their pitchforks.

AA was a nuisance and we need an agile front man to close down spaces, thought he did well and he scored.

User name does not check out.

This is peculiar. Surely playing African music and alluding to the battle against apartheid is treating him as different because he is black? The dude was born in England, and not, as far as I am aware, imprisoned by saints for his campaigning against apartheid in hampshire?

I wonder if they'll welcome him back with a box of bananas and celebrate his "watermelon smile" in the photos.

Lol he is such a dickhead boomer.
