If we had got rid in the summer we'd have looked way more attractive as a club. Now we're sat in the relegation zone with no striker. Absolute shit show from SR.
-
Brighton have worked out a way of doing well and they haven't had a decent striker since Glenn Murray. It is possible. And it's literally his job to work it out. Just like Potter did. Whilst instead all we get is him and his joker gang like Semmens saying "it's really tough, we're lucky to be here". As they try to save each others jobs.

Just listened to the Total saints podcast and makes you realize how far we’ve fallen… Bournemouth lost 9 nil a few weeks ago and have since turned their season round with Gary O’Neill having a plan and a squad who wants to play for him. And that’s what I find so annoying about Blackmore and Semmens making out we’re so lucky to have Ralph. Expecting a plan and a united squad is the basics.

Saw it last season with Tino. Young bodies taking a battering. Didn’t learn.

Agreed. Brighton are pretty much the same club as us. Size. Fan base. Budget. Difference being they’ve looked up and thought positive and we’ve tried to make out we’re lucky to be here. with Potter they had no striker who scored goals but by have a formula and a plan they’ve played out their skins. Player to player were pretty much the same. But a smart board and a good tactician made strides. If Semmens, Blackmore and all don’t have that attitude. They can swivel.

Terrible teams (Villa / Everton / etc) play us and kick start their season. That's what we've become. We've lost any style of play and his player selections are just mental. Again and again. If he gets another 10 games we're going down.
-
If Romeu, Jan and Stu or Eli leave we’re gonna be seriously short on experience.
-
Just give our only striker who might shin one in to a relegation rival. Makes sense.
-
Which player is most likely to come out as a flat earther? There’s the answer… 🤔
-
Because all three clubs are better than us. And are all moving in an upward trajectory.

Streetwise and punchy. Like it

The club cut corners with every transfer in the summer. Saving themselves 20m. But we didn’t replace Danny’s goals, we didn’t sign a commanding centreback which we’ve been desperate for and we didn’t sort the two keeper no no.1 situation. Think this is the year we’ll go down. And the more likely that becomes the less likely we are to be bought.
-
Cut corners. Bank 28m. Sign a dud. Make Romeu play there. The new Southampton way.
-
You think we spunked 18m on agent fees, etc? What a load of rubbish. we’re hardly doing business with Riaola and Mendes. South American footballers are notorious for having tricky agent situations - meanwhile we’re hiring teens from Chelsea who’s contracts are close to being up. Hardly the same situation. The club spins PR and you lap it up.
-
37m spent. 55m made. 18m disappears. We've got to stop believing that all money is reinvested. Each position is weaker than last season.
-
Of course I don’t think he’s choosing the players. But I think he’s the guy who bought a football without having enough cash and now forces the board to take the cheap alternative. We’re gonna be the one club in the league who makes a profit in the season where we’ve lost our 3 most senior players. And the tv money is just spirited away too… And if you can’t see we’re lacking a leader who talks the defence and our two shit keepers through games you’re as lost as them…
-
Palace have spent on two proper CBs. Each about 17m. Speak English. Have experience in English football. That’s the way to do it. We’re here trying to bodge our way through due to Gao desperately trying to save himself a few more pounds. Can’t wait till the day he (insert word here) off.
-
We’ve lost our 3 most experienced players and their wages. And replaced them with half price versions. That’s some gamble from a team who let in a shitload of goals and had a terrible second half of the season.
-
He might turn out alright. But sums up everything that is wrong with the club. Cutting corners. Going cheap. Not replacing at the level we had last season. Signing someone who can’t communicate with the rest of the defence. And the whole argument of “saving 20m” for Jan is rubbish. We’ll be down by then.

Could work out in our favour - Koeman is a wanted man. Our board has to back him.
