Again, just like McKennie, we do not do our business in the media. If it's linked in different sources, every day, every week then it's unlikely to be true. Our interest becomes public through our sources at a time we are comfortable with. Or potentially at the players end towards the end of the deal but clubs and players we are looking to do business with are told quite quickly to keep it quiet. If it becomes public knowledge we won't entertain it and will either pull out or have already pulled out. If various random internet click bait sources are reporting interest it's likely to be either just clickbait or agents trying to use us to drum up interest. McKennie and Ntcham are not players that ever smacked of credible interest.

Count again. 5 of the first 8 before my post make comments towards it.

Individually some people might have the opinion that they are dull as fuck now. Nothing to do with their age, race or gender. You are quite literally making up reasons in your head for these people being let go. It's quite obviously a part of a huge shake up at Sky over their football coverage but you're so precious and desperate to be offended that you've made up reasons for their contracts not being renewed, got angry about it, replaced them with people you don't like and then got angry about that too. Ummmmmmmm....You said the people getting the job wont get it on merit, and they will definitely be a woman and a black man. But that is definitely not a pop at women or black men. OK then. Anyway, as is being reported today they will be rotating the slots, not selecting just 3 people to replace them. So you all got your racist and sexist knickers in a twist over nothing because you're all so desperate to be offended that some people getting moved on because heaven forbid some people might find their banter, clichés and rants boring is a perfect excuse for you to let off some steam.

Well it's a matter of opinion isn't it. For me, I find that whole Soccer Saturday panel dull, outdated and very much had it's time (and fair play by the way, it was a good time). I prefer listening to other presenters, including those 3 mentioned. They offer different views and less clichés. They aren't angry about VAR all the time (granted, neither was Le Tissier) for a start. The best show of this ilk is the BT European Goals show. Granted being able to the action is a massive reason for that but having presenters who clearly know there stuff, researched and up to date is also a huge plus. None of them have played football at any level so using the quality of womens football as a reason they shouldn't be talking about mens football is genuinely nuts, so the people doing that really need to look at themselves and realise that if they truly believe that then they too shouldn't be offering any opinions on the game themselves either. Yes because anyone under 50, a woman or black simply must be a box ticked rather than selected on merit. Honestly, as Ian Wright has brilliantly put recently, if you're using the letting go of these 3 as an excuse to have a pop at women or black people then you really need to be having a word with yourself. Nobody has replaced anybody yet but any excuse to for some good old fashioned racism and sexism eh!
-
They the 3 replacing them are they? No? Ok. Good post though. And btw, all 3 more relevant and more clued up than the 3 who got let go today.

As opposed to the riveting viewing the 4 same blokes have offered for years and years now? If Sky want some different people, from different backgrounds and different experiences to come in and give a slightly different view of matches and the game in general then fucking good on them. Maybe it's not political correctness, maybe it's just...better TV?
-
Jesus christ. The state of some of the above posts. 3 blokes who everyone is bored of hearing from on a show hardly anyone watches or talks about anymore whilst their rival show feels far more enthusiastic (although equally as shit, but at least it tries to be different) get the boot and everyone uses it as an excuse to have a good old rant about foreigners, women and people who aren't white. I watched a bit of the show for the first time in 2 seasons in the last game of the season. It was Jeff Stelling going mental at any mention of VAR and raising his voice hysterically and the others backing him up. No insight from any of the people on the panel, just bland descriptions of the games and some shouting. I'm surprised Stelling and Merson have survived but to think it's a shame when they've tried freshening up and to think it's the fault or foreigners and black people is genuinely mental.

That isn't what you said though is it?

Shall we go through all of Anka's mistakes and poor writing (there was plenty) or you know...shall we get over ourselves?
-
I think I think it's excellent if you're into that kind of thing. I actually prefer reading some of the other football content more than Saints coverage at times. Wasn't a huge fan of Carl personally but certainly his coverage was in depth and don't see any reason to be concerned by this change in terms of value for money.
-
Has he been appalling for the past 2+ years?
-
The words mainly.
-
He's 21. This message board has people trying to convince us Reed, Hesketh and Sims all have parts to play and they are 2-4 years older than Valery. Areas he needs to improve, obviously, but writing him off is genuinely laughable.
-
I thought you didn't believe that football clubs and chairmen take notice and play games with the media in negotiations?
-
More I see Reed play at Fulham the more I think he's not suited to us. We don't play with a tidy midfielder who sits in front of the back 4 breaking things up and moving it on quickly. The two nearest players we have to that have been declared back up options and overrated in the past week on here. If the manager thinks he can turn him into a dynamic midfielder capable of playing in our 2 then great but if he doesn't, then I'm totally OK with moving him on and letting him have a crack at a career in the Prem at Fulham.
-
You ask this all the time. It gets more laughable every time. I have seen you on this very board every season get sucked into discussing and thinking about potential signings Saints or other clubs might make based on newspaper rumours. Why you think the people doing these transaction wouldn't hear these rumours or have these thoughts cross their minds when negotiating deals genuinely baffles me. If you think that chairman or whoever do these deals are not trying to call each others bluffs when trying to save a few quid then you are deluded. Rumours in the media can plant seeds of doubt into sellers or buyers minds, interest in players can be used to bump up prices or interest in other players can be used to quicken up deals. Football clubs could not give one single fuck about fans. If you think they are leaking transfer rumours to their selected journalists just to keep your little mind updated and occupied then god help you pal.
-
There's no clamour. Deals take time. People have worked themselves up during this thread to the point where they are annoyed it's not done. The season ended less than a week ago. The constant need for hourly updates because of SSN and then social media really has turned football fans into spoilt brats. If it gets to the start of the season and it's not done, permission to wet yourselves, until then, it's quite literally affecting no one but people in this thread. (Before anyone says "it's stopping our plans to do transfers, it's quite obviously not and if we're planning our transfer strategy around a what if scenario then we've got much bigger issues).
-
This is a link to the player. No evidence it's credible or not. Poor. Also as a side note, I think it loses it's credibility when it says we want to finalise a player-cash deal with Spurs when we've specifically and publicly ruled that out.
-
But as you said, we all knew it. Poor.
-
Can you prove that he would?
-
As per your post earlier in this thread and before that someone else pointing it out also. Poor posting.
-
LeG mentioned before he had a feeling the club would look at him again in the summer. Can see him and Reed being given an opportunity to fight for a place to replace PEH. If either want it of course.
-
Not least because nobody at the club has an issue with him. Manager, board, players. All happy. If he stays, he'll play. Only people in this thread who have riled themselves up whilst scrolling through the posts on here have an actual problem with him. Club are keen to sell, player is keen to leave, both are trying to quicken it up and are using Everton to do so.
-
With the news that China banned PL football in their country being broadcasted there was talk of clubs with Chinese owners being affected. Assume this got covered elsewhere on here though. Imagine it's just a contract renewal. Nothing big or major with ownership breaks that quickly.
-
Genuinely nuts from PEH if he's agreed to go to Everton so quickly. Only reason I can think for it is if he's enjoying the feeling of being wanted so quickly. Which has it merits of course but his priorities of wanting CL and the title have changed.
