  1. Can’t see Viera getting the Chelsea gig. As for the second point, you mean apart from our best player right?
  2. Suspect you can swap these around fwiw.
  3. 100% agree with this. I especially can’t believe anyone is endorsing Bednarek/Stephens staying when we’ve been trying to replace them both for years.
  4. Latest Athletic article summed up - ‘that player you think is leaving is probably leaving, the ones you didn’t probably aren’t but everything we say is with a huge caveat that it could change when the club and player decide at the end of the season’
  5. Phillips was already a regular for England before he moved to City. I'd be a little surprised if JWP suddenly gets in the England team. He'd have to improve his all round game and performances, which is possible in a better team but it would also need Bellingham/Rice to suddenly be injured/massive drop off in form and a sudden decline in Henderson too (Who Southgate has already said is the direct competition for JWP). Possible place in the squad up for grabs though, Gallagher probably his competition.
  6. We won't be getting the Championship manager of the year this time.
  7. It wouldn't be fair to write off someone so young based on their first season of first team football so if Wilcox, someone who has worked closely with him and been close to his development, feels he would be a good signing then I don't see the issue. Remember City refused to sell him permanently last season because they rate him highly.
  8. I agree about appointing up and coming managers fwiw, but regarding Still, his record won't last and results can be misleading when the amount of time is so small (his first two manager jobs were caretaker roles and incredibly short). So his day to day work, improvement of players and style of play will be the reason for appointing him and I'm unaware of the finer details of that so was wondering if you had insight into those.
  9. Out of interest, why? I'm not saying it's not a good idea but on the basis that he's unlikely to match his record at Reims then what else is it about him that you think would be good for us?
  10. Maybe they considered more than just the 4-6 games a season that you attended?
  11. Lavia has a Euro 24 squad to get into. Absolutely no chance he plays in the Championship with us, loan or permanent. See also ABK.
  12. I’m not sure that’s fair. The new manager had it pretty well set up for him and based on his failure at Watford shows the benefit of having a well run club around him. They’ve only done better if they go up, otherwise they’ve delivered the same as Jones had done in the Championship.
  13. Would much rather we looked at Liam Rosenior if we're admiring the work that was done at Derby at that time.
  14. McCarthy will not be here next season.
  15. Why are football fans so precious? Anyway, is Les Reed still running the football side of things there out of interest?
  16. No. People are interested in them because they've managed to raise their profile. That's marketing, not odd. They don't have a Netflix special fwiw.
  17. Viera's tenures at Nice and Palace both went the same way and ended with him reverting to quite defensive football, disillusioning fans and still not getting results. Most manager appointments end in the sack but lets not employ someone who has a clear pattern in his last two jobs.
  18. Anymore clarity on who this was at all?
  19. Oh okay.
  20. Well I just think the criticism of the guy for treating games as a friendly is a bit rich considering you said yourself 2 months ago the season was finished.
  21. Aren't you the one who was telling everyone in February that we were already down? They've all been friendlies since then. Anyway, I'm not sure this place would have reacted very well if Selles hadn't made any changes at all. We were hanging on from minute 1 of the 2nd half. Changes had to be made because the result was only going one way. Our issue, as I've explained a few times on here, is the squad is very similar in terms of quality and there aren't many game changing changes that can be made. I find it very amusing that we're a few games from the end of the season, the team changes almost every single week, we've tried different combinations, formations and players throughout the whole season and we've struggled pretty much every game yet there is still a group of people on here who seem to think team selection is the issue. If we're having a pop at Selles I'd much rather we focus on his complete inability to coach any attacking plans into the team. The same can be very much said about all 3 managers we've had this season too.
  22. Paying to get into a match so you can give some verbal to the directors you're paying will never not make me laugh. Only protests that have any merit involve not going to the games, the rest just look silly even if they do make you feel better about yourself.
  23. Wouldn't have shocked me that much if you told me at the start of the season. The pattern of results against the better teams in the league and gradual decline of results against the rest, especially at home, has been set for a while now and was really evident towards the end of last season under Ralph.
  24. Nobody needs to be told this. His contract literally expires at the end of the season.
  25. Not on English TV.
