I think my point that anyone who states ‘best players, best positions’ as a legit tactic shouldn’t be taken seriously dealt with the rest of your post.
-
I think by time they mean not 11 games. They’ve all stated they want promotion as quickly as possible. Not sure anyone doubts that not being promoted would be disappointing but the season is long.
-
Ah yes, the age old don’t ever play inverted full backs after a bad result fable.
-
You’re really asking me if other clubs play inverted full backs, other clubs set up at corners like we do and other clubs play a high press and get it wrong sometimes? I don’t think the answers to those are hard to find, but that might be because I have an agenda you’re right.
-
If you honestly think we’re doing something that no other team has done before because you’ve seen us try and keep the ball a bit then your probably not best placed to provide a ‘best players, best positions, not some fairy tippy tap bollox’ solution.
-
Don’t think it was an invite thing so probably because those same people go out of their way to get tickets.
-
A managers style isn’t the only thing that dictates an outcome though. It’s not a case of ‘my style is better than yours so I win’.

Interesting that he was considered to be playing well at a time when he was actually not starting games. Anyway, he’s simply an inconsistent player who goes through good spells and bad ones. Found it weird that fans were so desperate to keep him in the summer personally and even weirder they considered him to be a guaranteed goal scorer at this level when he’s only ever been that once in his career. Thankfully the club signed another striker too. Clearly wanted out in the summer but couldn’t get the move but no malice towards him but don’t believe it affected his performances because he’s simply always been like this.

Maybe. But on the basis the changing a manager quickly hasn't really worked out for us either in the recent past, maybe we should just let this one play out and see what happens.
-
The idea that we've got a quality squad and should be just winning games in this league immediately despite having a squad that has consistently been losing games for 3 years feel pretty entitled to me. That's not even including the fact that we've seen off 2 managers and some want a third gone all in under a year.
-
Just incredible. Such entitlement and stupidity.
-
Having a proper striker who is a presence and threat in the box would help. We haven't had that for a long while. Adams won 1 header in the box today maybe and it lead to a goal, having someone who can compete more would really help open up different threats.
-
He said that about the second half, not first, when we gave up a lot of possession and looked even worse than today.
-
Those two teams played a lot higher and a proactive game themselves. Rotherham made a sub after 30 minutes to go 5 at the back and concede any attempts to have any possession and retreated because they realised they weren't competing. Once the space has gone there's nothing to go fast and direct into and we have to carve out chances instead. We did that and their keeper played well. It happens.
-
Yes, either that or just an acceptance that A) it's early and things won't be perfect B) 7 points in a week is pretty good considering not one of you probably thought we'd get that a week ago and C) the goalkeeper today was the only thing stopping us getting 9

This is absolutely everything wrong with people in this thread by the way. Not only did we previously have a manager who wanted to do this but got hounded for many reasons including his shit style of football but also the idea that these incredibly basic statements make everything fine.
-
For a fanbase that has experienced such shite for years now the entitlement in this thread is incredible

Hearing the audio won’t change anything. Mistakes will be made, people will argue about the audio as well as the decisions and be even further removed from the football itself. There’s a whole culture reset needed to get football anywhere near Rugby, hearing people who are already vilified chat and justify their decisions to a baying crowd won’t achieve much really but it’s a nice line, idea, and dream. Oh and btw, those things you say that rugby refs say to each other, they get said in football too, there’s plenty of audio of that released now, they do a monthly show with it all on, lots of conferring and talking etc, but guess what, mistakes still get made, it’s life, it’s human.
-
Fwiw, there is no solution. Entitled fans and clubs accepting that whenever humans are involved nothing will be perfect, is the first step to a solution of sanity. The good thing is VAR really helps corrects errors like the one not to send Jones off Saturday and the net benefits far outweigh the negatives, but they will still make mistakes.
-
This is also not true. Plenty of terrible decisions around the world. But yeah, the select few best referees and var’s in each country are quite good.
-
Yeah what these incompetent humans really need is a clock ticking down in the corner of their screen as they check the offside. ‘5 seconds left Darren, quick! Just fucking hurry up and say something’. Also love the idea of sticking with the on field decision which was also terribly wrong on Saturday.
-
None of this is true fwiw. The audio is available in real time and is heard by commentators every game. And guess what, humans still make mistakes. Not sure why everyone needs to hear the audio now either, ‘check complete’, wooow so enlightening to hear those words.

Our patterns of play and intent in the games are completely different. If you don’t or choose not to see them that’s up to you. How successful they are/will be is up for debate sure but there’s a clear difference in this season to the previous ones. That’s obvious to anyone.
-
This is what they do though. It’s what Che has done his whole time here. Goals in short bursts to convince you he’s not the issue when the nothing performances come. Both fluffed big chances against Leicester and fluffed opportunities to create things yesterday as well. They barely effect things attacking wise consistently. We’re still relying on them. It’s bad recruitment and bad from the manager picking them.
-
I think the fact the manager has clearly implemented his style very quickly with a bunch of players who were recruited for the opposite style of play and a raft of new ones whilst losing some of his best ones is a positive. Results and performances were positive early on. Yesterday if we had a striker who could score when we were dominant we’d have won, that’s a positive because there was clear improvement from the two games previously. In a 46 game season bad games will happen so I’m not overly worried about 3, although obviously the goals conceded are concerning as is the consistent picking of Armstrong specifically but like I said yesterdays improvement on the defensive side was a positive and actually addressed the concerns everyone raised on here. You can’t litigate for individual mistakes.
