  1. I tried pointing out during Jones time here the players were responsible and maybe a bunch of players who consistently concede goals and lose games of football, whatever the manager or style, might be a bigger issue than the manager. I've been banging that drum for quite a while now. I don't think it's possible to be related to all of them. This one has got us winning on a regular basis though and is still well within a chance of fulfilling the brief at the start of the season.
  2. Our best defender is being made to look like he runs in treacle against both their wide players tonight. There is different levels to these squads.
  3. There is very few of our squad that gets into the Leicester team, it's on show tonight, it was on show last season too. Could quite easily argue Leeds squad too. The idea that we should be easily getting promoted with this squad is and always has been strange. We're rightly in contention and will go into the play offs with a good chance.
  4. So desperate to blame him. And only him. Proper commitment to your personality on here.
  5. This narrative being rightly put in it's place tonight.
  6. Yeah money might talk but so do other teams, with equal or more money. Presumably ones that haven’t been through 4 managers in 2 seasons too.
  7. We’re not sacking Martin and if we did after he delivered a near 90 point season then you’ll do well to convince credible managers to trust you.
  8. If we don't get promoted then this is a good thing. We'd have a squad littered with a core group of experienced players who would have relegated us and failed to bounce back so I'm very open to losing a lot of them personally.
  9. Presumably you don't want Downes dropped so if closing out a game isn't it, when do you want to be playing 2 DM's out of interest? Criticising someone for doing something you wanted to see for a while is a great effort by the way.
  10. There’s no doubt that we have lacked a killer instinct in matches lately but on a weekend when everyone at the top dropped points maybe this is a good time to kind of respect the challenge of the league and do away with the ‘should have been 4-0’ mentality. The entitlement stinks and will only set you up for frustration.
  11. As above. Also this was echoed by Martin yesterday in his press conference. And, most pertinently, it was quite obvious that was the reason at the time by anyone watching the game I would have thought.
  12. For a specific reason that neither of them would have been able to provide.
  13. They play different positions and are completely different players to him but sure.
  14. There's very rarely any consideration for the other team in these "what changed" summaries is there?
  15. I thought it was obvious this was to deal with the set pieces/physical threat they were having without messing up the set up?
  16. Don't know what you're referring to here but if you're telling everyone you've rumbled a team I feel like you probably should pick up a better result than 0-0 to back up you're point. Also find it interesting Blackburn players are pointing out a narrative that FF has been stating since November at least... conveniently through FF himself.
  17. Can see why they are struggling if they can rumble a team but still only come away with a draw.
  18. "Mara is ineffective so try Sulemana up there instead" - For at least the second time. Incredibly on brand not to actually bother either checking the minutes/goal contributions or for anyone to challenge it.
  19. This is not the place for an Ellis Simms debate but that's a mad opinion
  20. This isn't true though? Our main creative genius are supposed to be the ones ahead of him that failed to perform. His role in the team is to help build from a back 3 and rotate possession into those ahead of him. If we wanted creativity from our left back, then Manning would be a good shout considering he was literally creating chances consistently from left back, but he was widely ridiculed on here too.
  21. Personally, no. As stated above, it wouldn't be wise financially firstly but more importantly I just don't think there's evidence of discontent that needs to be resolved. He's quite clearly appreciated by those that work at the club so unless that changes, I don't think we need to be disrupting things. We'd be a much different squad next year obviously and I don't think another new manager at the helm to oversee that would be wise. He'd be best placed to transition the younger guys I think. It would be disappointing though obviously and we'd have to start the season well, not least because the fanbase would be toxic otherwise. We've only underperformed if you compare us to the 3 above us though. Which is of course natural but take them out for a moment and our record obviously stands up. That's credit to the 3 above us obviously and whilst it's not a glowing review it's also not a disaster that people would have you believe. We're still very much in with a good chance of achieving our goal. I think the season should be played out before people come to conclusions that Martin has to go for example.
  22. Yes, that's why I said its frustrating not to be there but it's not the crisis some people on here seem to think it is.
  23. I was Stephen's biggest critic in the summer and was perplexed we'd given someone who had consistently shown himself to not be good enough a place in the squad let alone the captaincy, but it's quite obvious he's not the problem ffs
  24. People would do well to remember this. We're having a perfectly good season but there is 3 teams better than us at the moment having insanely good seasons. It's frustrating we're not doing that as well but we're still well on course for a 3 game shoot out at the end with one of them, which again, is perfectly reasonable considering we were below two of those teams last year and probably had more squad disruption that both. This is correct. Stephens really is not the problem on his own. This is insane. It's been written on here for years despite having had 4 different managers, at least 3 different ways of playing and trying every combination possible. Maybe the core players we're still relying on that have seen us gradually decline to a Championship side might be the issue rather than people trying to be clever.
