Pretty sure Downes injured himself after 20 minutes when taking out Morton off the ball. Was limping from that point onwards.

They've both been here for nearly two years now. They've had 3 different managers and a handful of decent performances between them. Great if they turn into something under the next manager but lets not rewrite history as these two being hard done by.
-
He and the whole team were clearly set up to stay in the game as long as possible and only attack when the opportunity clearly presented itself, especially the first hour. No risk taking either on the ball or off it. It was absolutely a more structured set up and Dibling was the main sufferer of that because he wasn't allowed to drift into gaps where he could pick up the ball and beat men to open up the play. That's not a criticism because it's very understandable. He also suffered because he was closely dealt with by a very physical player in Gomez in the first half.
-
He's been playing in a team tactically set up to play to his strengths. The lads 18, so if he asked to play in a slightly different and more structured way like tonight it's going to take a while to find his fluidity.
-
Haven't listened to it but it sounds like two local stations combining together to create some content for their listeners, which wouldn't be odd at all.
-
Knows the Championship is so funny. There's not many recent Championship winning managers who "knew" the league before they won it.
-
Obviously it doesn't work like that but if it did I'm incredibly intrigued to know your reasoning for breaching the rules to change a manager who isn't getting any points only to be deducted points?
-
Agree with Chewy on this. Rohls experience in fighting relegations and galvanising teams both here and at Sheffield Wednesday could be useful but even if you took those experiences away a German assistant with big club, big manager experiences and an analyst background is a lot of boxes a club like ours would want to tick if it’s looking for an unknown but potentially quality manager.
-
I have come round to the Rohl idea but my suspicions are mainly based on the more money it would cost. They haven’t been shy of paying what they need to on managers in the past to be fair, Ralph, Jones x 2, Martin x 2, but do they keep doing that? Also don’t know enough about Rohls in possession style to know if it really suits the way the whole club is set up.
-
So you can’t name any then? 😂
-
It won’t be Rohl for a variety of reasons. Maybe sadly. I’m enjoying the ‘build for next season’ brigade. As if we didn’t go through 3 managers and still appoint a new one for the Championship last time we were in the PL. Either you believe we’re relegated now and we appoint for short term damage management or you believe it’s still doable and we appoint someone crazy enough to believe that too. Nobody is coming in here to lose lots of games only to remind people in the interviews ‘yes I know we lost again but can you remember it’s about next season please?’
-
Of course it adds up. Nobody is suggesting they are on different sides or the agent wants him out. The agent is instructed to get the best deal possible for Tyler by him and his parents. Agent is doing that.
-
Callum Bragg is back from his loan spell then?
-
Either the board left it too late or they tried to replace him in October like you previously said.
-
I promise you you’re reading far too much into my posts and doing that will not be worthwhile 😂. I’m pretty sure I posted I expected Martin to be sacked after Wolves as well.
-
They will mate, but happy to be proven wrong. Hopefully we’ll actually win some games and we won’t have to revisit it.
-
This all sounds great until you actually look at a list of people appointed to clubs in our position over the last couple of years mid season, including ourselves. And then you realise how appealing it really is.
-
Yeah that’s fine and all hail that’s it not RM anymore but I’m responding to the point that ‘we can prepare for next season’ and this weird belief that just because it’s not RM anymore the vibes won’t be bad if we lose a few games.
-
I think people conveniently forget that whilst you may think the next manager is not responsible for the relegation we still have to play and likely lose games on a regular basis for 5 months. That still involves not scoring many goals, defensive mistakes and all the other frustrations we’ve experienced so far. You, as a fan, will literally have to experience the games still every week and that won’t be a fun experience for anyone, including the manager. Any new manager will be either a) caretaker b) overwhelmingly and borderline insanely positive we can still stay up c) realistic but desperate for a crack at the PL (either again or 1st chance) because their reputation isn’t good enough to hold out for a better option elsewhere. that will rule out a lot mentioned in this thread. Probably except Cooper (option C). fwiw I quite like finding someone in option B.
-
Cheers for clarifying. Now who is it you accused me of being before, can you remember? I went looking but couldn't find it.
-
Jones sacked a week later fwiw. Interesting.
-
No , I'm Jordan Sibley, head of PR and comms at the club . Have a read of the last page. Or 2 pages ago I was Lucy Pinder I think. Whichever suits.
-
👏 you're such a hero
-
About 3 days ago I was agreeing with you that Cortese was a knob, now I collected his suits? No idea what people were sold at St Marys either. You lot are unhinged but I cant promise I won't revel in it.
-
Okay mate You've nailed me. Does that mean anything I post now will carry extra weight? Shame for Sibley but I'm happy to take the kudos. Just out of interest and on a side note, at what point in your life and Saturday evening do you see a post on an internet messageboard and disagree so much with that you have to make calls to find out who it could be?
