  1. "I just wanted to leave where I could play more. But he actually spoke to me saying he wanted me to stay" - If we're directly quoting from the echo. I just don't like the rewriting of history. Martin wanting to replace Onuachu and Onuachu wanting to leave this summer are both perfectly reasonable considering the lad has failed to perform for us (up until now if you like). Just because he's worked his way back into contention and put in a couple of decent performances (without yet scoring a goal) I don't think that means anyone is a fraud for not rating Onuachu before now. If Martin is a fraud for that then so are a lot of people in this thread over the past two seasons.
  2. He wanted to leave this season too.
  3. Eligible but injured.
  4. I was defending Martin because he was hampered by not having a goal scorer. I’ll defend Juric for the same reasons. I’m also not sure 1 game is enough to make wild conclusions about player improvements just as I’m sure people wouldn’t make wild conclusions about the players who were poor yesterday declining under the new manager. That said, I enjoyed us having a physical threat up top which is something we’ve lacked since last season.
  5. A lack of quality goal scorers is a problem that will transcend any manager, style or vibe.
  6. Something different to think about maybe but not sure how concerned they would be about a guy who has yet to score for us over our top scorer last and this season. Anyway, pretty dire talking point tbf and by far the biggest thing we need to address in January.
  7. I wholeheartedly agree and have done so for quite a while. He's not very good either is probably the simple answer.
  8. I agree and that is why I said I was pleased to see Ramsdale call it out.
  9. Smacking it long to the smallest players on the pitch is silly by almost any logic. I don't think deliberately giving the ball away in the opponents half worked for us last time we did it and don't think it's sensible now either. Thankfully, Ramsdale himself seem to call it out after the game because neither he, other players or the new manager will want them to do it. Yes, not giving the ball away in our own area was always going to help us.
  10. I'm not sure thats true. Rest of what you've said is spot on but ABK was good the season we went down, he just had some injury issues and was in a badly managed team whilst being young and playing in the PL for the first time. If he's at his best, fully fit and fully committed in terms of actually wanting to play (even if it is just to impress someone enough so he can leave) then great but they are all big ifs right now.
  11. 26% pass success for Ramsdale if we’re being factual.
  12. With masterminds like you on here? Feels stupid if so. Anyway, I’m glad you’ve settled on who you think I am now. 3rd time lucky maybe.
  13. Hi mate. I liked the manager who helped get us promoted and I’m a bit suspicious of the defender who not only left the moment he could (fair enough to be fair) but also hasn’t been seen since he’s come back (including any attempts to get match fit) but has tried to leave again and just did a nice fluffy interview with the German press just before the transfer window opens and just after the manager has left. Sorry. Edit: I forgot that he was seen previously actually. It was also just before the last window ended. Bit weird.
  14. Since signing for us I think you could count the amount of times he’s looked like scoring for us on one hand. The idea that he’s looked our best player by a distance at any point or offered more than most our forwards is absurd. I’m not adverse to starting him and giving him a chance but let’s not rewrite history.
  15. No way people are falling for the PR piece just before January and just after the manager has left are they 😂
  16. Think Ramsdales interview afterwards summed it up nicely, fine for today but cant and wont keep doing that.
  17. It was at 13.30
  18. Somewhere in Netherlands.
  19. As if you/everyone else won’t be judging him after max 3 games ffs. The lack of self awareness on here is unreal 😂
  20. I did try and explain on here that no sane manager is going to kick off a long term job with the likelihood of having to go through 6 months of defeats first. Anyone thinking otherwise was deluded. Club needed to find someone insane enough to think they could stay up or offer a way out at the end if/when the fans have had enough.
  21. Well that won’t help with the Jordy stuff.
  22. The only thing that could make anyone who genuinely talks about David Moyes managing us anymore mad than they already are is if it's driven because by some betting odds changing.
  23. Rohl for all his merits doesn’t really bring a style of play that matches what the club is set up to do currently and also doesn’t bring defensively solid football which might be considered what we need. Corberan at least ticks that box but still feels like too much of a change internally. Surprised Ivan Juric hasn’t been mentioned much. What’s his style like?
  24. Trusted sources in the press have also said it’s not Rohl but Saintsweb knows best.
  25. Pretty sure Downes injured himself after 20 minutes when taking out Morton off the ball. Was limping from that point onwards.
