skintsaint Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 good away point while the others only done the same at home.
ringwood Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Shame we couldnt capitilise on the other results, On the plus side apart from brighton we didnt actually lose ground on anyone.
OttawaSaint Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Bah, supporting Saints doesn't get any easier...
Colinjb Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Yes, dissapointing. Old Trafford here we come.
Nexstar Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Pleased with that. Always gonna be a tough place to go with the pitch and weather. Posh and Bournemouth dropped points at home to teams lower in the league than Hartlepool. Charlton are the only team to gain from tonight, but they seem to be fading a bit. Charlton and Brighton both lost at Hartlepool. Point gained.
alpine_saint Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Rubbish. Extremely disappointed at the wasted opportunity. The players dont want promotion enough.
trousers Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 (edited) All League One games a draw, apart from Brighton. Weird. Our result arguably better than Bournemouth, Peterborough and MK Dons, all of who dropped points at home.....and Huddersfield who drew away at lowly Dagenham Congratulations to Brighton on winning the league though Edited 22 February, 2011 by trousers
Liquidshokk Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Boring. Got Swindon Saturday too and I've never seen us beat them :-S Bad memories of last few games against them.
CWD Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 meh, we've had a let off. Decent point in bad conditions and no ground lost on 2nd place
Appy Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Good point i think. Both Charlton and Brighton lost there. Results mean its stays the same, Brighton look miles away.
Window Cleaner Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 We didn't lose any ground on any of our real rivals so not so bad. 9 pts from the last 6 games certainly isn't great though.
dubai_phil Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 5 days away from home and one point. Sounds bad but with the other results, meh, worrying rubbish bleah But it's still another point from another midweek cow patch. OK so we won't catch Brighton but the others are as inconsistent as we are. However - SORT this first half attitude out NA!
Saint_clark Posted 22 February, 2011 Author Posted 22 February, 2011 Rubbish. Extremely disappointed at the wasted opportunity. The players dont want promotion enough. I'm sure fans of Posh, Hudders and Bompey are saying exactly the same. And they drew AT HOME.
Matthew Le God Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Old Trafford here we come. Huddersfield, Peterborough and Bournemouth all draw tonight, so we didn't lose any ground on them. Plus have games in hand to overtake them all.
Saint_Jonny Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 No lost ground so not the end of the world. Feels like a massive missed opportunity however!
Saint Billy Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Should be winning these games really. Apart from Brighton we are lucky with the results but on the other hand we could have capitalized. I'm concerned that we are going flat.
benjii Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 We didn't lose any ground on any of our real rivals so not so bad. 9 pts from the last 6 games certainly isn't great though. Although 8 from the last 4 is fine.
Leicestersaint Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Poor poor poor - poor use of substitutions as well. Despite all the money we've spent we're no Brighton.
Yate Saint Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Pretty poor but I wouldn't have been at all surprised if we lost that game. Can't win them all.... (unless your Brighton)......
Window Cleaner Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Brighton are now out-of-sight. Always have been, first place hasn't been a reality since we lost 4 out of our first 6 games
aintforever Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 At least the other results went our way but it has to go down as a wasted opportunity.
JustMike Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 has Guly actually done anything since he signd his contract with us?
adethorne Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Keep the faith, all not lost, the 3 above us and the 3 below us all draw. could of been better but i'll take a point.
dubai_phil Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Pleased with that. Yep, they all clearly love playing on cabbage patches in the frozen North on Tuesdays and having 300 mile trips home in the middle of the night.
corky morris Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Not good IMHO. Adkins does not appear to be a brave manager to me. Substitutions are strange too. Time to give Guly a rest me thinks.
Saints foreva Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Guly sounded awful - again. Bet he doesn't get dropped for Swindon though. . . .
dubai_phil Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 has Saga actually done anything since he signd his contract with us? There, edited it for you for accuracy
Foxstone Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 A game we needed to win to put pressure on those around us. Missed opportunity I'm afraid.
trousers Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 The "Putting things into perspective" view: Of those chasing 2nd spot, we had the best result tonight (i.e. drew AWAY at the highest placed opponent)
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 I think Adkins bus has a bit of a puncture!!!
Saint_clark Posted 22 February, 2011 Author Posted 22 February, 2011 Guly sounded awful - again. Bet he doesn't get dropped for Swindon though. . . . No he didn't. In fact, after half an hour the commentators were saying he was one of our best players, making good runs and closing down the defence well.
Jonnyboy Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Thats just the sort of game Pardew wouldve lost last season, blah blah blah
Appy Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Brighton are now out-of-sight. Mr Positive strikes again. I think 2nd place is promotion too?
latter day saint Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 frustrating game as we have again failed to capitalise on other results going our way.
alpine_saint Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 We should also have a sweepstake on how many times alpine writes off the season. I think it's about 12 so far. Might keep a tally chart next season. How have I written the season off ? I said Brighton are out-of-sight. And they are.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Huddersfield, Peterborough and Bournemouth all draw tonight, so we didn't lose any ground on them. Plus have games in hand to overtake them all. We do however need to win to make games in hand count and it seems we are struggling to put teams away just at the moment we need to turn the corner and quick!
alpine_saint Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Mr Positive strikes again. I think 2nd place is promotion too? You carry on clutching those straws...
CWD Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Guly sounded awful - again. Bet he doesn't get dropped for Swindon though. . . . TBF the commos (sorry lighthouse) were saying he played well
Liquidshokk Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Think the ref did us a lot of favours. On another day any one of those 1000 penalty appeals would have been given...
Jonnyboy Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Rubbish. Extremely disappointed at the wasted opportunity. The players dont want promotion enough. You are right. Thay love League 1 and the low wages it brings.
Matthew Le God Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 Tonight could have been a lot worse! Bournemouth missed a penalty in their game. Saints ended up not losing any ground, still have 3 games in hand and have to play them.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 22 February, 2011 Posted 22 February, 2011 I am more concerned about the lack of chances we seem to be making at the moment! we never really looked like scoring tonight!
