Laptop recommendations

Right, I am basically clueless as to what makes a good laptop but just after a few ideas really.

£300 is my ideal limit.

Any help appreciated!

Novatech are a decent bet for that sort of budget, although with any laptop of that price, battery life is going to be pretty poor.

The current lapotp is a Novatech. I broke the screen and the thing is pretty slow now so I thought I'd use it as a chance to "upgrade".

If you click select on that one, it charges an extra £60 odd quid for the operating system (vista, XP etc), so it's £298 without an operating system.

Bought this one at the weekend and it seems like a good deal to me (admittedly I know very little about laptops though)

Choose a £360 laptop and email them asking for it for £300 and usually you'll get it.

Don't get a celeron processor.

Not a lover of the CELERON CPU myself, but when you only have £300 your mainly in that territory anyway!

If you'd saved up a little more pocket money you could almost have afforded my second hand MacBook that I've just sold for £400.

I would rather give £280 to charity than buy and Acer, let alone with a celery processor.
