lee_saint Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Saying we're in talks with Ben Steele and Quinton (sp?) someone, Jersey based property developers.
Bakovnetski Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Mates of Wilde, Le Tiss or Rupert's mate Scott?
Saint Billy Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 How is this leaked if they had to sign a confidentiality agreement?
lee_saint Posted 28 April, 2009 Author Posted 28 April, 2009 I believe Jersey, one of the Islands, I had it on in the background and caught a bit of it. Def Ben Steele was one name, Quinton was the other, missed the surname.

Wibble Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 It was Guernsey not Jersey. Guernsey based property developers Ben Steel & Quinton Hubbard/Huppet (or similar)

Mole Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 It was Guernsey not Jersey. Guernsey based property developers Ben Steel & Quinton Hubbard/Huppet (or similar) Guernsey is a very small place. I wonder if MLT has some involvement.
Saints67 Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 It was Guernsey not Jersey. Guernsey based property developers Ben Steel & Quinton Hubbard/Huppet (or similar) Boo! His name sounds too posh. Didn't we learn anything with 'Rupert'?
Saintjersey Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 I think it must be Guernsey as I have never heard of them before........ unless they just moved out to Jersey?
lee_saint Posted 28 April, 2009 Author Posted 28 April, 2009 Not too sure if it's anything to do with it, but Project Blue Ltd is a Guernsey based property company who did the work on the Chapel Chelsea Barracks. Have a look at link http://www.zawya.com/story.cfm/sidZAWYA20080708050055/Project%20Blue%20(Guernsey)%20Limited%20USD%202,365,000,000%20Syndicated%20Ijara%20Financing%20Facility
lenwilkins Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Quintin Hubbard is a cricketer playing for Guernsey Rovers: http://www.bbc.co.uk/jersey/content/articles/2006/07/31/cricket_ci_club_060729_feature.shtml :confused::confused:
Pancake Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quentin_Hubbard Deaded?
Hatch Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quentin_Hubbard Deaded? Scientology! Cool. Tom Cruise is buying us. He is mates with Becks as well. Cruise / Beckham syndicate. See , all the clues are there. Obvious.
eurosaint Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quentin_Hubbard Deaded?[/QUOTE] Also never a good sign !
explorer saint Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Not exactly households names heh!! Sorry not over excited about this at moment
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Can't find them on the Times rich list, so they won't do. Cross them off Mark and concentrate on the (hopefully) fabulously rich household name person/consortium!
lee_saint Posted 28 April, 2009 Author Posted 28 April, 2009 Not exactly households names heh!! Sorry not over excited about this at moment Maybe not, but you gotta look who they have links too, with a League One club it's never going to be a big name, then again, if they have any links to Project Blue company then it's got links to Dubai.
lee_saint Posted 28 April, 2009 Author Posted 28 April, 2009 http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/construction_and_property/article564935.ece I expect Mr Scott is behind this, he is the island's richest resident.
Dicko Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Something tells me these guys are a couple of chancers The number of potential buyers rises to 3, and we have no idea who the front runners are. It's been discussed in absolute secrecy I reckon they have released their own names to the media, nothing to do with Mark Fry
Judge_B Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 SSN saying there may be an announcement as early as today
krissyboy31 Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 SSN reports that they expect an anouncement in the next 24hrs and there could be further developments today.
lee_saint Posted 28 April, 2009 Author Posted 28 April, 2009 Yeah, with the names being Ben Steele and Quinton Hubburd.....I can't find anything on these guys, not even their names to any property developments in the UK and Europe.
Give it to Ron Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 (edited) At least no-one can say how many other Quentins are there in football! We know there are with Fortune..did old Crispy ? Edited 28 April, 2009 by Give it to Ron
Saint Billy Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 SSN saying there may be an announcement as early as today Oh well, beggars cant be choosers!
The9 Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Yeah, with the names being Ben Steele and Quinton Hubburd.....I can't find anything on these guys, not even their names to any property developments in the UK and Europe. Me neither, I keep finding a rugby player, a northumbrian graduate in environmental issues and a bloke who makes BBC documentaries, and that's just the UK search. The international one has all sorts of randoms. Then again property development is only usually newsworthy if it's illegitimate or unscrupulous, so that's not such a bad thing.
krissyboy31 Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 At least no-one can say how many other Quentins are there in football! We know there are with Fortune..did old Crispy ? I know he played cricket as he batted for the other side. Yes, but there weren't many Ruperts either!
OldNick Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 yeah I cant wait for our friends who lead SISA now having a Quinton to deal with Lol. A Rupert and then a Quinton those boys wil be apoletic. I myself will be delighted and welcome them joining us
EBS1980 Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Oh well, beggars cant be choosers! But how do you know they aren't just the front of a group and have serious wealthy backers behind them? I know they wont cos this is Saints we are talking about, but you never know..
Saint Billy Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 But how do you know they aren't just the front of a group and have serious wealthy backers behind them? I know they wont cos this is Saints we are talking about, but you never know.. Your second sentence is the answer.
The9 Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 I'd be reluctant to make any half-baked judgement about the suitability of someone to potentially own and/or run a football club based on their name alone... though weirdly I seem to be in a minority.
TheMidfieldGeneral Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 According to SSN.... First Buy expected to be Karsten Jancker
Saint Billy Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 I think it may be the channel island links making everyone nervous for obvious reasons.
Dicko Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 According to SSN.... First Buy expected to be Karsten Jancker :D

If there is a 20% chance of being taken over by someone with deep pockets or 100% chance of us existing this time next week, I know what I'd rather have. It's the latter, by the way
Trader Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 at least no-one can say how many other quentins are there in football! We know there are with fortune..did old crispy ? i know he played cricket as he batted for the other side. lol
Pancake Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 "Their batting has been strengthened by the arrival of 28-year-old Quinten Hubbard, who has joined the club after arriving in the island during the winter. The ****gy-haired property developer has represented Hampshire at under-19 level and he is the husband of the island hockey development officer, Becky Hubbard. ‘We’ve lost a couple of people but gained a good cricketer in Quinten,’ said the captain. ‘He looks a solid middle-order batsman and a very useful orthodox off-spinner.’" He's a youngster then...
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 Nothing on the Sky Sports website yet. Anything further on SSN?
krissyboy31 Posted 28 April, 2009 Posted 28 April, 2009 If there is a 20% chance of being taken over by someone with deep pockets or 100% chance of us existing this time next week, I know what I'd rather have. It's the latter, by the way Exactly, however they must have enough money to ensure we're not back in this situation again next season.
